Now appearing in Wichita, Kansas
37 minutes - a wonderful Body and Soul day!!!! All conversations are about B&S.

Horton Town Square - Leo is working at his “desk” and it appears to be night. Weivenip? Now everyone knows about Weivenip? Rafe joins him, a planned meeting. Lady Whistleblower has posted again.

Jada returns home and Javi is in the kitchen on his phone.

Replay of Joy meeting up with EJ with his bribery check as he demands she packs up and leaves.

Replay of Alex and Johnny arguing with Chanel walking in. Chanel wants to know what the two of boys are fighting about? Nutting says Johnny, it’s about Joy, says Alex.

Jada wants to know why Javi is so protective of his phone? Javi claims it’s his Christmas gift order he doesn’t want anyone to know beforehand. Jada tells him she looks wonderful in anything blue. Javi tells Jada he thinks she’d look great in a Winnie the Pooh onsie. Jada is less than certain. Javi makes a note of that. Jada asks after Rafe, he was there, then got a message and left.

Leo is upset that Rafe hasn’t caught Fake Lady Whistleblower and now she’s exposed Weivenip! Thankfully Rafe is as confused as the real world. Apparently Weivenip is Pineview spelled backwards. Another take on one of the former Days' stories (Melaswen), Rafe thinks it’s like another story, Leo says it's not like any other story. Rafe is curious of plot holes. Leo didn’t hire Rafe for notes, but to find fake Whistleblower.

Alex, Johnny and Chanel continue. Johnny blurts out that Alex slept with Joy.

EJ, still holding the check, and Joy continue their discussion, perhaps Joy could go to Los Angeles, warm sunshine. The whole 9 yards. Kate wanders into the scene and wonders out loud what’s happening?

Javi and Jada talk about Thanksgiving Dinner and Leo. Rafe is a huge football fan.

Leo and Rafe continue to talk stupid storylines. Leo’s password is "password" because Leo’s brain is that of a goldfish. Rehash of Leo and Javi’s meeting. Rafe asks about other suspects? Leo thinks Salem is full of underhanded folks. This sparks an idea from Leo.

Kate wasn’t aware that EJ knew Joy. EJ tells Kate that Joy is quitting the show. Joy is really missing New York and the pace of the show is too much. Kate pulls the contract thing. EJ rolls his eyes.

Johnny, Alex and Chanel continue this inane conversation of Alex sleeping with Joy. Alex is confused. Shocking, I know.

Jada and Javi discuss Leo’s jerkhood, jerkdom? That Leo is a jerk. Javi doesn’t want Rafe sucked into Leo’s vortex. Jada wonders why Javi cares?

Leo’s fertile brain has come up with Fake Lady Whistleblower is Kate. Rafe is unsure. Now Leo thinks Abe might be involved too. Then he goes into the plot of The Producers (a musical), the Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick version.

Kate and EJ discuss contracts. Kate is sure she won’t lose Joy. They could recast but Kate doesn’t want to. She promises Joy that she will be a big star.

Chanel doesn’t really believe this silly fight, but Alex caves, since he promised Joy that he’d never tell Chanel.

Javi and Jada continue to discuss Rafe taking on the Lady Whistleblower case. Javi leaves abruptly.

Rafe may have an idea of who the fake Lady Whistleblower is. They further discuss Javi.

Alex, Johnny and Chanel continue discussing Joy’s sex life.

EJ tells Kate that his client won’t be hurt, his client has made her decision. Joy tells EJ that Kate’s correct, she wants to stay. EJ is not pleased.

Chanel leaves the boys to go learn her lines for tomorrow. Alex confronts Johnny. Johnny thinks everything will be fine as long as Alex doesn’t say anything. Alex is worried that Chanel will blame Alex now that Joy is leaving town.

EJ pulls the bully move, Joy snaps at him. Joy tells EJ that she’s sorry that Johnny isn’t comfortable with her being around but she is staying in town.

Rafe returns homes, thinks the enchiladas smell great. Jada grills Rafe on the case. Rafe thinks that it could be Hattie Adams. Hattie even put a curse on the show. Jada side eyes Rafe.

Leo is reading the Lady Whistleblower column and he appreciates the job fake Lady W has done. Javi wanders in and they talk. Leo really enjoyed being a head writer, an honest job. They chat. Kerry walks in he was there to meet Javi. Leo realizes that Kerry was his first groupie. Kerry and Javi both swiped right on each other. Kerry and Javi go to the Small Bar.

Jada has a problem with Rafe searching for Hattie, because Hattie is a person of interest in the poison cupcake case. The conversation devolves into silliness.

EJ comes home and Johnny questions him about EJ giving Joy the check. EJ breaks the news that Joy is remaining in town.

Chanel walks in again.

Alex is learning lines or something when Joy appears. She wants let Alex know she didn’t take the money and she’s staying in town. Joy tells Alex about Kate appearing. Alex tells her that Chanel believes he and Joy are now sleeping together.

Chanel wants Johnny to play the homewrecker and run Joy’s lines with her.

It's like they are making fun of Days with this storyline. Everything is the same as stuff we have seen in the past. LOL. I did see Ron's name as the writer for the episode. He probably did this on purpose.
Of course he did. The entire B&S baloney comes from old Days storylines. He even went into Friends episodes to have Hattie fall down the elevator shaft, like how Joey was written off Days. Seth Burns' character is literally named Blake Lamoray. Joey's character was Drake Ramoray.

Several characters had the chance to be smart today, but that would mean the writers would have to think of the next story, so instead we get:

EJ outmaneuvered by a hooker;
Leo outsmarted by 1990s computer technology;
Rafe unable to track an IP address or make a phone call to the Spectator offices;
Joy unable to further her ambitions and move away from her personal troubles despite free legal counsel and a fat check.

More interesting choices would have been:
Leo instantly realizing his groupie was the obvious choice as the impostor, Rafe and/or Leo hunting down management at the Spectator to demand answers; Joy leaving town for a few months (it worked for Tate and Holly) to reinvent herself; and/or Jada covering manpower shortages by subcontracting BlackPatch.

I agree it seems like the writers are mocking themselves, the genre, and the fans, and not in a fun "meta" way (like the Scream movies), but in a mean way (like they don't care anymore). It's one of the reasons I'm surprised Ron Carlivati was hired at the new soap, Beyond the Gates.

Thank you, Robin!

I forgot about Kerry. He had no access to Body and Soul's storylines, so we can surely rule him out, I think. Never say never. And at least Leo stopped it before it began and was honest with him. He had not yet gotten over Dimitri. But that had to hurt seeing him with Javi. Our poor Leo.

Johnny is showing his DiMera more and more. Not nice lying about Alex and Joy. I still say the truth will come out during the holidays. Just have a feeling. Ho ho ho will take on a whole new meaning.

I hope that EJ leaves Joy alone and does not try to "disappear her," like in the caves. I am glad she stood up for herself and mentioned how there were two of them involved in the mess.

For once, Kate's timing was impeccable.

Any bets on who will track down Hattie first, Jada or Rafe? And what if it isn't Hattie? It could be so obvious that it is her that it isn't.

Please don't allow possession as a storyline on Body and Soul. That should never happen again. As if that ever stopped them.

As if Body & Soul isn't bad enough, they have to use old and stupid DOOL plot lines. Yeah, good for Rafe to question how is it possible?

I thought Shady Whistleblower was cute.

Great. Joy is staying and now she will be sleeping with Alex, I'm sure. Stupid Johnny. Wish you had kept it in your pants. But maybe hopefully Joy is pulling a Sami and they didn't actually do the deed. Please.

I'm not sure that would be any better, the "I was so drunk I passed out before doing the deed of cheating on you" still looks terrible.
It depends on perspective. I think for most people I know intending to cheat is bad but forgivable but actually doing the deed is harder to forgive. We'll see what Chanel's motivations are when they get there. I don't expect they'll be the same as they were last week.

B&S b/s equals boredom, especially anything to do with the awful Johnny-Chanel-Alex-Joy(less) circle of tedium.

Pity poor private investigator Rafe — his interview about Leo’s inane “case” was painful. Is there any chance his FBI contacts could get him reinstated? (Aren’t there any women in Salem who will pay good money to get the goods on their cheating husbands?)

Elvis’s attempted payoff of Joy(less) brought to mind another time he wrote a check payable to a young woman. If memory serves it was payment to Willow Stark to go snooping inside Bo and Hope’s house. Naturally, she botched the job, accidentally setting the place on fire.

Thanks, robin.

DaysLady, Steve hired Rafe to work for Black Patch on Thanksgiving. Leo is his first case.

Johnny has gone to the dark side of being a DiMera, lying to Chanel that Joy is sleeping with Alex.

What will Kate do if she finds out about Joy & Alex since she told Alex to stay away from Stephanie since both
worked at B&S?

Will Stephanie find out Alex and Joy, which is a lie? Will Alex and Joy actually sleep together?

So Rafe and Jada both have Hattie as a suspect for being Lady Whistleblower and poisoning the cupcakes. Is it
Hattie or someone else? And will Rafe and Jada break up?

Does Leo keep his notes in a "cloud"? Is someone working at the Salem Inn reading his laptop while he sleeps?

Today was saw a good use of a flashback when Leo remembered his date with Kerry.
