Rafe's Bedroom: Rafe, next to Ava, dreams of kissing Nicole during Police Casual day. He tells her he dreamt about a bear. Later in the kitchen they talk about EJ and Lucas, etc. Rafe thinks Lucas was jealous.

Pub: Outside, Nicole tells Henry her plan to get info from Lucas. She enters and asks to join Lucas (who's tucking in to some pancakes). Lucas admires Henry. Nicole asks him to watch Henry while she runs errands, and they make small talk (Nicole is surprisingly un-deceptive) about Sami's accusations against Nicole with Xander. She wonders why Sami would enlist Lucas's help. Lucas talks about being closer to Sami lately thanks to being imprisoned in the DiDungeon together. They talk about the contentious relationship between Sami and Lucas, as well as their sparks. Lucas remembers kissing Sami in their moment of peril.

Sami & EJ's Room in Gabi's House: EJ is reading a tablet article as he and Sami snuggle. Sami reads it out loud, which serves as a recap. Sami seems supportive of EJ's efforts. EJ has an ally in Kristen. Sami is weary of involving Kristen. EJ knows where Kristen is. This worries Sami, because EJ might go to jail for aiding a fugitive. EJ suspects Sami wants him to lose. She begs not to lose him again, so please don't involve Kristen. He agrees. They kiss but EJ pulls himself away to meet his brothers.

Gabi's Living Room: Tony gets off the phone with Steven Hawk, who is siding with Jake and not budging. Later, he and Chad use the pawns again as they line up the votes, which remain in an apparent tie. Tony doesn't think more illegitimate DiMeralings will turn up by vote time. They wonder about EJ's alliance with Kristen. They discuss whether or not Kate's libido is in play (includes a flashback). Chad plays it off. EJ enters, can't find Kristen, maybe someone else will switch sides. (Steven is immovable.)

Gabi's Foyer: Jake is having an upsetting call with Peter, who won't move from Chad & EJ's side. Later he and Gabi are talking about Kate's vote when she hobbles down the steps. Gabi blows Jake a kiss. Back and forth about how super special & awesome Kate is to Jake. Gabi goes to the office. Jake thanks Kate for her support.

Pub: Sami comes upon Lucas and Nicole, who have been continuing their dance about Sami/Xander/et al. Sami needles Nicole, fake apologizes. Nicole leaves, Lucas will drop Henry off so he can see Allie. Lucas tells Sami to stop poking Nicole, lest she poke back.

Rafe's: Nicole shows up, to see Ava. She asks about Duke. Later, he remembers his dream of kissing Nicole.

Conference Room: EJ butters up Kate. Made-up history about EJ and Li Shin having dealings in the past. Bickering about Jake, Chad, EJ. Let's get to the vote. Aye (to remove): Tony, EJ, Theo, Chad, Peter. Nay: Jake, Gabi, Shin, Steven. Kate votes Aye. Jake's out. END
 
Thank you so much, Jason. 2nd day in a row that NBC's "breaking news" took away most of the show for me. Today I got the first 20 min only. Now I have to find somewhere to watch yesterday & today (yesterday, got the last 15 min only.)

So...Jake got ousted, huh? Hopefully, this will end the stupid Kate/Jake travesty, she smirks at him probably, puts her thumb to her nose, wiggling the other fingers, and flounces off. (That is MY HOPING, GUESSING, SPECULATING)
 
Oddly the breaking news was just after the show ended here.

JustSamantha - when did they start talking about Mr Shin? I got into a very mild but friendly tussle on twitter over whether or not EJ dealt with Li Shin. (The argument was based on my opponent's belief that Li Shin could have met EJ when EJ was dealing with his father.)

All I could verify was that Mr Shin first appeared a few months before EJ died. Then he made lots of phone and offscreen appearances for years. I can't confirm if he had ever been mentioned before summer '14. I figured if anyone could remember, you could.

I know it doesn't matter, because whatever they're saying today is true, and whatever they say tomorrow, even if it contradicts today, will be true. LOL
 
EJ was long gone from Salem when Li Shin came on the scene. We didn't see him until late October/2019. His father, Wei Shin first appeared in July/2014. He was briefly mentioned by EJ a few times before we physically saw him in July/2014.

But Li Shin was never mentioned until right before we saw him in October/2019.
 
I thought the same thing: EJ doesn't know young Shin unless there's some off-screen moment when they met. He certainly doesn't know anything about his contributions to the company, and Stefano definitely wasn't around when he would have had any contributions. That was dumb.

Also crossing my fingers that this means Kate's ruse is over. It's tiresome. I think Chad plus seeing Gabi taunt her when she thinks she can't see got to her. She should follow his advice and disappear for a few weeks, then come back with her sight and forget this whole thing. But she probably is doing this after planting the seed that Gabi told her Jake was with her out of pity. She just wants to break them up.

I enjoyed Sami's dig at Abigail about having her husband cheat. But then EJ quickly glossed over it, not wanting to talk about the past. I might start actively hating that character. This version is so unlikable.
 
Thanks JS, I was sure that Mr Shin Sr was mentioned only a few times and fairly close to his appearance. My well-meaning opponent (who once claimed that Neil's ghost was to appear at Mickey's funeral) walked back her 3-year claim when I mentioned EJ's death date.

I agree TinaY. I've not had much use for EJ, ever, since he rolled onto the screen as Sami's neighbour, but this version is not love-to-hate or accept-we-must-have-a-villain-in-modern-soaps watchable at all. He's just face-punchingly smug.

Sami's digs would be better if she didn't live on quicksand.
 
So, o.k. I got a grin, as I don't remember Mr. Shin being seen at all, tho I do have a very vague recollection, but figured I was just imagining in my mind. He was constantly mentioned, or talked to on the phone, tho. But his son..yep, we have seen him several times. Personally, would not mind if more often! I'd also like to know why this so -called Board of Directors has so much power! Li-Shin should hang around town a bit, tho.....admittedly, this headwriter would not know what to do with him, & he would get ruined. Yep, better where he is.
 
Never really understood why the Shins were involved in DiMera Enterprises if it's a family company or why they had so much power.

I will say I was surprised they had Kate's vote today and not leave us hanging over the weekend. But she looked straight at Jake and Gabi when she voted.

I am not a fan of EJ either. Hopefully they will break up Sami and EJ and get her with Lucas and he can leave to go lick his wounds.

Need to tweak this. Li Shin was first seen October/2019 in the digital series with Chad and Abby in Paris.

He wasn't seen or mentioned in Salem until April/2020.
 
This is not a digital review/forum of some Days app on phones. This forum deals with the TV episodes of Days, tho I know references are made to some app. Hey, we all don't "do" that. it is a shame that Days has spawned things elsewhere that not all it's viewers are privy to. It is hard enough for newer viewers to understand what the blazes is being referred to (some storyline or happening of 20 years ago, without adding on digital doings. )

Personally, don't care whatever was shown on digital. WE all did not see it.
 
OK, I was just saying that Li Shin started on the digital series, but wasn't seen on Days until 6 months later.

Events of the digital series have been mentioned on the show. (don't shoot the messenger, I didn't write those references)

And at the time, kat would post the digital episodes when they were posted online. We had quick recaps for those who hadn't watched.

But that's neither here nor there, the point of that post was to say that I was clarifying Li Shin didn't appear in Salem until April/2020, and not October/2019 as I had originally stated. I had wanted to note that the character did originate six months earlier via the digital series.

Maybe the younger Shin meant EJ when they were in meetings together with their fathers.

Rafe lied to Ava about his dream. He wasn't being chased by a bear. Nicole was doing the chasing.

Sami talked to EJ about taking pills. I wonder what for.

So, Kate voted against Jake. What's going to happen now?

News that other men are after his wife probably wouldn't affect Father Eric. He'd probably just think that it's a price to pay for doing God's work.

Li Shin: He ought to contact his father about changing the bylaws so that resurrected DiMeras cannot vote in leadership disputes on the grounds that they are technically dead and are probably brain damaged.

Kate: It would serve her right if her spite vote against Jake comes back to haunt her: feckless Chad and slimy EJ run DiMera Enterprises into the ground and she's forced to make a living by selling granny sex to kinky sailors on the Salem piers.
