SPOILER !! Character or actress leaving?

Not sure how reliable some of these sites are but it appears that the actress who plays Ciara has been let go or decided to leave Days. The article states that it may have been her decision to leave but "sources" indicate she may have been let go. The article is from celebrity laundry website and I would post the link but when you are on that site, things just seem to load and load and load so if this is a load a crap, by all means close the thread. I'm sure Jason47 can fill us in on some of the details or Google her and the article will come up.

The article also goes on to say that the actress was given some pretty heavy handed material such as Bo dying, being raped, dealing with her mom's issues.
 
Hmmm, they are only passing along a lot of gossip in re: Ciara, however, they also claim that there will be a recast for Jade (Paige Searcy who plays her is leaving within a month or so. )
 
I think Danielle Haugh is the Jade recast. I don't understand why though when we can't have Belle and Shawn on.

The Ciara rumor was started by a pretty reliable source over at Daytime Royalty who has press access to the show. I think this other site just picked up on it and blogged about it for the site hits.
 
If this is true, I wonder if they will recast Ciara again?

Well there has certainly been a lot of negative comments about the portrayal of Ciara since she first began. However, I WAS floored that the actress was given so many heavy duty emotional stories right off the bat, before she ever got even the feel of the part.

Again, it shows how long it takes for the show to rectify anything they find is not going over well. And how, quite often, it is just too late.
 
With the show on hiatus for two months, hard to tell what is going on. However, the filming time will be shortened to 4 mos. However, earlier this year they took 5 week hiatus, but did not take long to get back up to 6 mos. again.

In this case, it's even odder as she has has been airing for well over a year now and the feedback has been pretty consistent since the beginning.

It really is interesting what TPTB listen to and what they don't. In the case of Greg Vaughan (Eric), I fully believe his return is based on all the fan backlash the show received for firing him. However, then they turn around and do the same thing to Shawn and Belle and have received very similar backlash. But so far no resolution. Same goes for other characters such as Ciara, Deimos, Dario, etc.
 
I don't know if I missed the reason for the actress playing Jade leaving. If she is being recast, I don't think that will solve my problem with Jade. I think the acting has been fine. I just find the character very annoying.

I was one who didn't care for the current Philip, but he has started to grow on me.

Haven't made any comment on the Ciara news. As you said, she's quite reliable. I'm just not making any official comment for now. Don't take that to mean that it hasn't happened though. Sites sometimes announce things at different times.
 
Well, though there are few, some of us like Rafe and Hope together. I'd rather her be with Bo, but since Bo passed away and approved of Rafe, then I agree with Bo and also approve of Rafe. The writers can't please everybody. They forced me to watch the horrific story of EJ and Sami all those years, it's nice they are letting me have Rafe and Hope.

And on the topic of Ciara, I don't believe anything until Jason47 speaks it. That said, if Ciara does go, I feel it's too bad. The actress was handed a lot of very difficult material in a short amount of time. The writers really did a disservice to her. I wonder if they realized this and let her go? I wish her well in her future endeavors. I hope they do recast. I like Hope having a daughter in the picture.
 
If she really leaves, and I don't think she's that bad, they should have her go away and bring back the original Ciara (Lauren Boles). :love: Maybe she gets a rare disease that de-ages her. Now that's a soap story!
 
Saw a pic of present Ciara & Shawn posted 12/8/16. Now everyone is on hiatus, so the pic must have been taken before they closed up. That said, it is strictly only a rumor, and definitely not a fact, as of today.

Also, I read an interview with Peter Reckell (Bo) who is grateful for all the love and support he receives from his fans, but was very adamant that he prefers being with his family, doesn't like being away from them for any length of time (as he was this past summer for some acting gig he had). He really was definitely indicting he would not return to Days. And since Bo is dead, died in Hope's arms, that should really end it all. (You all do know that is the only reason he returned this last time, so there would be closure on Bo completely, no returning from being missing, no "I am not dead", nothing like that.

So, this is to make it easier for Hope to move on.

Now, having said this, the WHO she moves on with is another story. I really did not mind her with Aiden. But of course, they had to ruin him right off the bat, and the actor noted that the character "was thrown under the bus", which he was. I don't mind the good friendship between Rafe & Hope, nor their hanging out, etc. But there just is not the "love" spark there..........for me! I appreciate that others feel differently & that is fine.
