On December 22, Arianne Zucker (Nicole) became just the 17th actor on "Days" to appear in at least 2,000 episodes. Here's the list as of December 31, 2014:

1. Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans-4232/Samantha Evans-3/Hattie Adams-2) 4232
2. Drake Hogestyn (John Black) 3767
3. Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady-3655/Gina VonAmberg-164) 3677
4. Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) 3491
5. Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady-3421/Young Colleen Brady-24) 3424
6. Frances Reid (Alice Horton) 3316
7. John Clarke (Mickey Horton) 3084
8. Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton) 2954
9. Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) 2704
10. Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Horton Kiriakis) 2633
11. Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Horton) 2539
12. James Reynolds (Abe Carver) 2421
13. John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis) 2361
14. Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) 2151
15. Bill Hayes (Doug Williams-2019/Byron Carmichael-6) 2024
16. Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton) 2020
17. Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) 2003

**Josh Taylor has played two separate roles (Roman Brady-1494/Chris Kositchek-1020), for a total of 2514 episodes.

It is interesting to me that people like Victor, Nicole, Lucas, Kate, and Abe have made the 2000-episode list. It is certainly interesting in a good way, but I wouldn't expect so many characters who are not what I perceive to be the "focus" of the show (mainly Bradys and Hortons) with so many episodes. Victor, maybe... but it is certainly nice to see them on the list!

Back in the first years of Days, Julie, Doug, were in many, different stories, just as Bo, Hope, John, Marlena came to be later on. Various other characters came and went, but those characters were there all the time. Interesting to me, is that Marlena tops the list, despite being off the show for 5 years, while doing a prime time show.

I was most surprised to see Josh Taylor (Roman) listed but I know when Roman first came back to Salem, he was involved in a lot between John/Marlena and then falling for Kate.

Congrats to Ari Zucker (Nicole)! I saw on Facebook that someone asked Jason47 who the next closest person was to that 2,000 count and apparently it's Joe Mascolo (Stefano) and Peggy McCay (Caroline) but they are both still around 1,800 episodes (give or take) and since they aren't major players anymore it will take years before they hit that milestone.

How long do you have to be Days to be a vet? Is it how many years you been on, or is it how many episodes?

Someone said 10 years and someone said 2000+ episodes. Anyone know for sure?
