Must be a busy Saturday everywhere, I guess, unless there is something going on that I have no clue. my son dropped in, before he was leaving on his way back home. Tis hard for me, here, there is no family, and with my best friend gone........oh, well,

Getting darker earlier and earlier. LOL, last night, as I was going to sleep, was thinking "tomorrow" was Sunday. Fortunately, when I awoke this a.m., first thing I thought was.......o.k. today is Saturday.......and I have to .................

It has been a very hard day here in Florida. We are most likely going to get slammed right in our faces with a Category 3 hurricane. Once again I come to you all asking for your prayers. Cookie and I will go to my daughter's home which is much more secure than my home. I am usually very cautious about jumping on the bandwagon that panics at the thought of a bad storm, but for some reason this one has me scared.

Thanks for being my "other" family. I know you all care about Florida, and that gives me peace to try to put my big girl clothes and put a smile on this 83 year old face. Thank you all and mostly thank our wonderful Salem Spectator and our Staff Members that give us all insight and opinions on Days.

You be safe, Cookies Mom. I don't think you can be too cautious. This one looks bad too. Hopefully it will pass through quickly and not drop gallons of water that you don't really need.

I have a cold so I'm not doing much this weekend. I have so much work I need to do outside
and I'm not able to do it.

I wish I had a friend I can call, but I don't.

I've been doing yardwork, cleaning out the tent trailer to put away for winter, saw Deadpool and Wolverine last night and today cutting back plants, sucking up the leaves in the leaf mulcher, laundry and maybe some baking.

When we shut down the pool at our former home in Illinois, we only took it down part way. Then the remaining water (about 3 ft. or so) would freeze, and the kids had a great ice skating rink. Yes, the pool was a cement one. People who bought the house enjoyed it for several years.......but this past year, they had it removed, the whole thing filled with dirt, and grassed it, etc. Guess it was too much care. LOL.

I do remember what a popular place we were for the kids (my kids' friends). Heck, they would come over to look or visit or something, even when MY kids were not there. They'd hang over the fence, yammering away with the adults, LOL They always managed to "just happen to have" bathing suits, either with them, or under their clothes. Ha!
