She was such a wonderful actress.

The first thing I saw her in was as Granny Wendy in Hook (the Robin Williams version of Peter Pan). Then Sister Act 1 and 2, and the First Wives Club.

She was so good. I first saw her in the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in which she played an overbearing 1930s self-important Scottish schoolteacher who went too far and to her great surprise was fired. This character was so different from the formidable Dowager of Downton Abbey. She will be sorely missed.

I love that song! It was originally part of the brilliant special Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall, with Julie Andrews and Carol.
