7/22/2024 - Donuts and dog day at the beach

Another cool & cloudy day here. The high will be in the low 80s today. Tomorrow
looks nice too.

Another morning waking up too soon. You don't realize how many mistakes are made without
proper sleep. I walked with jacket and then to church. I plan to do studies this afternoon.

rf, I didn't realize the kids lived there where you work. I hope Covid will be gone soon
where you work.

robin, has Vinnie been to the beach before? I hope he enjoys it.

Wilde Woman, enjoy your nice day.

I hope everyone has the best day possible.

Good afternoon everyone. Yesterday was a beautiful day in the mid 70s. My kind of weather! Now the temps and humidity are moving back up to the nasty zone.

School was good this morning, and the children were very well behaved.

Not much else going on here except working on the daily report.

Made a new to me corn salad yesterday. It seemed almost too easy, but turned out to be delicious. All of the seasoning comes from the Chili Fritos.

1 can corn ...drained
1 can Mexican or Fiesta corn...drained
1 cup mayo
1/2 bell pepper...diced
1 cup Chili Fritos...broken up

Combine everything except the Fritos.
Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Add the broken Chili Fritos before serving.

robinsnest - enjoy the dog beach

WW - That beach looks like a beautiful place to take a walk for sunrise and sunset.

rf - Hope COVID is gone quickly.

kat - I'm glad you had a nice weekend visit with your family.

At vet with Boomer getting his iv
If this is ongoing I have to learn to do it
Staff has to do covid test I tested today negative

Sexton, I hope you can get into a routine with Boomer. Also hoping for the nasty Covid to go away. Seems like it is strung out all over the country right now.

Squirrel, I'm not a big fan of corn but that salad sounds pretty good. I brought home some leftover corn from my lunch at a cafe today. If I'd seen your recipe before going to the store I would have bought some Chili Fritos to make a little of the salad. I do have some regular Fritos so it might be interesting to "make do" by using them and adding some chili powder to the mix.

Kat, I hope you're enjoying your nice weather.

Wilde Woman, that beach looks inviting. Hope your temperature didn't go above 83*.

Robin, Long Beach is one of the places we used to visit relatives in California. Such good memories of what a great treat it was for us. Hope you and the beast enjoyed the Dog Beach. Safe travels for you tomorrow.

My tummy feels a little queasy but I can't complain because I did it to myself. I took my car to the shop this morning. Niece followed and we ate lunch before doing some errands and coming home. I wasn't very hungry at lunch so didn't eat very much and brought the rest home. At the grocery store I was getting some of my favorite ice cream, Haagen Dazs, Vanilla Swiss Almond. I usually keep a pint of it in the freezer and eat about 1/2 a cup occasionally. So I did get that and I also saw a flavor I'd never seen before: Vanilla Caramel Pecan so I got a pint of that too. By the time we got home I was hungry again because I hadn't eaten much lunch. So I decided to try out the new ice cream. It was sooo good and I was so hungry, I ate the entire pint! I don't think I'd ever done that before in my whole life. I'm ordinarily pretty methodical in what I do. That Vanilla Swill Almond pint may be in the freezer for a while. I don't think I'm going to want any more ice cream any time soon! I made up for skipping National Ice Cream Day.

The dog beach was great lots of dogs, lots of sticks and lots of balls.... one BEAST who as you can see in the picture was not thrilled with the idea of moving in and out water... Grandson is also in the picture..... we were there for about an hour and Vinnie tried to convince everyone that he was being tortured and would they please take him home....... it was hysterical....

The water was nice.....sorry the beast didn't have a better time.... he did enjoy going out to dinner at the Mediterranean place. slept under the table...
