someone has to tell my supermarket bakery to pay attention to these.......lol. Just came back from a quick run over, and no blueberry muffins. ......sighhh. But we got sun and 82, so the tourists are delighted, lots of fun out there on all the lakes.

The muffins look good but I'll pass. I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like blueberries.

Glad you're finally getting some nice weather, Poirot.

Sure is hot here. Only around 100* but it feels stifling to walk out from air conditioning into the hot sun. I went to the mailbox to mail something, and later to pick up mail, as I knew there was a package that didn't need to sit in a black metal rural mailbox in the sun for very long. I recently saw where a woman in Texas baked a loaf of bread in a mailbox. I don't know if it was true or not. More and more I don't believe half of what I see on social media.

Good afternoon everyone. We're having a cool day at 72*F with black clouds and on/off misty rain. The cold front coming down over Lake Erie from Ontario, Canada, clashed with the storm coming up from what's left of Hurricane Beryl.

The roofers thought they fixed all of the leaks that they had created with their 4 inch screws in the roof over my office. Nope, had a waterfall coming out of a light fixture after this morning's heavy rain. Thank goodness I left my desk covered in plastic though they told me all was ok yesterday. Will leave the plastic on over the weekend just in case. Oh, they also found today that in the "fix" yesterday that they had driven a 4 inch screw in the heating / ac conduit yesterday letting rain water in their, too.

I love blueberries. My one friend hates them.

OC, our weather folks showed a video of the Texas lady baking the bread in her mailbox. It still could've been faked, but at least it was different from the usual cookies on the dashboard or eggs on the sidewalk.

It's been partly cloudy today. Sun, no sun, sun again.

Before I walked this morning, I started my washer to wash rags. I realized I started too
early and lifted the lid to stop it. I should have pushed pause instead. I was finishing
breakfast and washer started going. I'll have to get a new, expensive part. Hopefully,
it will come early next week. I found the receipt since I paid for extra warranty. It
expired in January. Of course.

My neighbor, Fenix's mom, gone since her mother had surgery. I finished washing the towels
at her house since they were soapy. I wanted to try out the clothesline since I had to
put it up after getting new pillars. One day, I'll have to move it up a couple of inches.

rs, sorry to hear your office is still leaking.

OC, that's interesting about the bread in the mailbox. Take care in the heat.

Poirot, enjoy the cool weather.

I hope everyone has a nice rest of the day.

O.K. I am laughing, as I knew it......up here, in the 80s is HOT for us yes, 85, 87, that is hot, but I am from Chicago, so know lots of 95-102 days. Ah, for shade trees.........especially close to the house (no don't have any here, Had one right in front, but one day, discovered the manager had cut it down, no idea why.

That woman baking bread in her mailbox.......did she scrub it all out nicely, before putting the bread dough in. (Mailboxes get awful dusty/dirty being outside all the time. Wonder why anyone would try it.....You can't time it, so have to keep going to check.....and not like a 350 degree temp.....oh, well, trust they all enjoyed the bread........!

I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like blueberries.
you are not alone OC.... they are nasty little things......

Today we headed to the river. Stop 1 we could hear the river but I couldn't find a trail to it so we moved on to Stop 2, we walked about a quarter mile then dropped in to the river bed. I had purchased "hiking" shoes to wear in the water, well let's say the water these were designed for are splash pads at the mall. But they were all that I had.... we get to the river's edge, Vinnie's 30 foot leash attached to his harness and into the river he dashes. BEFORE I could even get my camera out. He frolicked in the water, it was ah... different.... now he's a muddy mess but sleeping peacefully....

The water felt wonderful as it's 90+ degrees at 5000+ feet.....
HB stayed in the car he has no energy at all and can't catch his breath.....

Happy Thursday

robin, sorry to hear about HB. I'm glad Vinnie had a nice time in the water. Are you still
having power turned off during the day.

Hope HB is o.k. Sounds like altitude sickness... (which happened to Greg Vaughan (Eric) recently.

Yes, we are still power on power off at odd times of the day..... currently have power AND the hot spot is working so we have the internet.... On the other hand I've read two books and starting a 3rd one...... so that's fun......

HB has kidney disease and is on blood thinners for A-Fib he tested his blood today an it was 4.2 so his blood is too thin to provide oxygen to him.... I need to find dark leafy greens, something we dont' get a lot of because it makes his blood too thick but today that's what we want...... the near store had no vegetables left and I don't have it in me to drive an hour for veggies, I'll get some tomorrow.....

Oh cool the doe just came by for a meal.... she grazes in the meadow.... Vinnie isn't at all interested today.....

Robinsnest, what about a vitamin K capsule?

Rain this morning....not as bad as yesterday....street did not flood....this is not hurricane related.
I still have no power at the RV park. No power at the residential treatment center where I work. We are keeping the kids in hotel rooms..... I was so happy to have the day off
I have little to complain about....so many damaged homes around here.

I am at my friend "Granny" Joy's house. She is happy to have me here. She loves Boomer my dog.... he is on her lap right now getting loved on....

Robin, I'm sorry you're having so many challenges for this vacation. I hope it gets better. I like the picture of Vinnie in the river bed.

Poirot, glad you heard your daughter is okay. Why, oh why, do people have to cut down shade trees? I also wondered whether the people would actually eat the bread cooked in a mailbox. I know I wouldn't. My mailbox sometimes gets spiders, wasps, and dirt dobber nests in it, not to mention the dust.

Sexton, what a blessing for you and Boomer to be able to stay with Granny Joy.

Squirrel, I'm stunned at the incompetency of the roofers at your work place! I agree about the bread in the mailbox being an interesting change from eggs on the sidewalk or cookies on the dash.

Kat, bummer that you have to get an expensive part for the washing machine--and that the warranty expired in January. Wouldn't you know it! Good thing you were able to finish up the wash at Fenix's house. It's no fun at all to have to finish up something like that by hand.

Power is on at rv park
May take a couple of days to get resettled fridge and freezer have to be cleaned and sanitized and I am working first shift Friday and Saturday at the youth home
