Good morning. I got only half an inch of rain last night but everything is soaked and very wet, with rain in the forecast for the whole week. I don't know if my yard is going to get mowed before August! The one thing I like about not having it mowed is that there are pretty wildflowers blooming all over my yard. I keep my rain boots next to the door and wear them whenever I have to go outside for anything--to keep the wet weeds off my legs/pants.

Robin, my heart goes out to your aunt and her family. That waiting is the hardest thing.

Wishing everybody a good day.

I woke up at my usual time. Then I checked the forecast and radar. There was a break
from the overnight rain. I went out before 6 for my walk since it showed rain would
be back at 7. So far, it hasn't happened, but radar shows something on it's way now.

Yesterday, I got three things crossed off my to do list. I weeded around the mailbox,
trimmed a bush in the yard, and used trimmer.

OC, enjoy the pretty wildflowers.

I hope everyone will have a nice day.

OC, I bet those wildflowers are lovely, enjoy them!

kat, I hope you have a nice day as well! Good job checking off your to-do list. :)

Some of you may have noticed my status saying a lot is going on, I need prayers. Well. Here's the short story: I just finished paperwork and home visits and got approved as a foster home in my state, specifically a 'kinship foster home'. We are not an "official foster home", just one to take in children kin to us. This is my husband's cousin's kids, currently in separate temporary foster homes. We have put it in writing we want the kids to stay together in our home.

There is a court hearing today to see if the guardian assigned to the case will place them in our care. Ages of the kids are a 6 year old boy and a 20 day old baby girl. I have a wonderful community of friends already bringing me baby things, and I know I'm blessed with means to be a great foster mom to these sweet kids. But yes, I still need lots of prayers, specifically for these sweet babies coming into my care. I had my good cry last week, so I'm ready and anxious to fall into this new normal, and busy household. my family will go from 4 people to 6 people in one day. Yikes!

Overwhelmed is the understatement of the year.

Thank you kat. I'm approved as a foster home, but it's ultimately up to the guardian assigned, who was part of us getting approved. It's just not official until she has the court hearing this afternoon to have a judge grant them into our care. So I'm just going with 'it's not official until it's official", while mentally preparing and gathering needed items as most likely, they'll be placed in my care as soon as tonight or tomorrow.

Once placed in my care, they send me the paperwork I need to be able to enroll the little boy in school and schedule well visits with our pediatrician for him and his baby sister. It's a "hurry up and wait" type thing, which is why I'm so nervous and anxious. waiting is the hard part. My heart is broken they even have to go through this, but we are looking forward to giving them a safe and happy home to grow in.

DaysLady: Congratulations on your almost official foster home. And thank you for doing what you're doing! It's people like you that make this world a BETTER place.

I had an unscheduled MRI last Friday and found out today it was negative, but the MRA showed "something" so I have a follow-up CT tomorrow. They are looking to see if there is anything blocking blood flow to the brain. At least they found a brain! Our kids got together and decided I had shown some mental decline and "some bizarre" behaviors. Our nurse son called my doctor and told her and she scheduled a visit with him and me. It was almost funny. The bizarre behaviors were things I've done for years; the kids just don't remember it. Just praying that tomorrows labs allow me to have the CT right after.

Poirot: Hope you find a chair for your husband. My husband's in the same boat. He rides the stationary bike for exercise but loves to be outside so I have chairs handy--like you said, very lightweight. Mine are the old "web-weave" type.

Hopefully be on tomorrow with good news. Had a great day everyone!

Good morning. Waiting for the A/C guy time for our annual check up, nothing wrong other than a time frame of 8-12 noon. If all goes as planned it should take 15 minutes max. As it's almost 10am here, guess the folks in front of us had problems, or the guy didn't show up to work and no one has gotten around to cancel his appointments.

Good Luck DaysLady, I hope the court approves the kids to come live with you. I had a neighbor in Sacramento who took in families, not just single kids. It is God's work what you are doing.

OC- that cold front thingie passed through here, not a drop of rain, and it gets to you and you get rain?? really?? I'm jealous.

Nanahl - good luck with the CT tomorrow.

Good Monday to all.

Good Afternoon,

It's rather warm here today, not that I'm complaining. Nothing exciting going on today over here. I had a busy weekend trying to get stuff ready for Gena's First Communion next week. We needed to find a dress and some dress shoes, as she lives in leggings, t-shirts, and sneakers. Thankfully we found a dress at a thrift store and shoes at Target. I have a cake ordered. Her project is turned in to our pastor, and the lunch reservation is in place so I think we're all ready.

OC - I bet the flowers are just beautiful.

Kat - glad you were able to get out for a walk before the rain came back. It's always nice to hare chores marked done no the to do list.

DaysLady - bless you for giving a safe loving home to the little ones. Sending prayers that they get placed with you and that everything goes smoothly.

Nanahl - here's to hoping your test all come back okay.

Robin - I sure hope your A/C guy shows up. You don't need that to worry about.

Have a great day!

Thank you all for continued prayers. It means so much. I found out the baby has been weaned off of methadone, as her mother got her addicted to it while in the womb. She is still suffering some withdrawal symptoms. Breaks my heart. I have all the care instructions and just anxious to get her in my arms. My good friend that is a full time foster mom sends me reminders to breathe, which I'm so thankful for. It's important for everyone, no matter what you're going through in life, to get a reminder to just breathe.

Hi all - hope everyone is having a good evening. I took a muscle relaxer yesterday at 2pm and fell asleep at 7 last night and slept until 6:30 this morn. Felts a little groggy today but made it through. Getting a new mattress. Am tired of my back hurting. I went last Thursday to buy one. Hope it comes in on Friday so I can get it on Saturday.

DayLady - so impressed by you taking those kids in. May God bless you and your family.

OC - looks like we get an entire week of rain here in TX. Hopefully my garden will be happy.

kat - glad you got your walk in between raindrops.

nanahl - hope your tests come out ok.

robin - glad the A/C is working good. You need it where you live.

manda - congrats to Gena for her First Communion. They had ours at church on Mother's Day.
