The birthday girl and her dad on Saturday..... I left the party early as we had a party to celebrate my mom.... we went to her favorite fancy restaurant and had all of her favorites..... and talked about her.... it was a different kind of fun.....
now Sunday I get to pack the car up and drive home....
Y'all take care and don't go doing something silly.....

Robin - What a beautiful picture and story. Thank you for sharing such a lovely part of your weekend. Safe home!

NY warmed up to 35 degrees this morning, will get up to the 40s-low 50s.

It's another sunny day at 60 degrees. I walked before I had dinner today. Tomorrow will
be another nice day before rainy Tuesday.

robin, I'm glad you had a nice weekend with family.

I hope everyone will have a relaxing, restful afternoon and evening.

Hi everyone. I'm finally up and about after receiving 2 cortisone shots Friday morning......1 in the bursa sac (in the middle of the joint) of my right shoulder, and the other in my right knee. I can now stop the alternating ice bags. Getting cortisone injections always wipes me out. I didn't get even half of my work done though the bathroom and kitchen are presentable.

Now on the couch waiting for the European ice skating championships to come on tv.

robinsnest - have a safe journey home.

Wilde Woman - love today's photo.

kat - I'm glad you had a nice day for your walk.

I've had a restful afternoon. After church and dinner, I took a nap. It's 71* and sunny, not much wind. It would have been a good day to spend time outside but I didn't. In spite of the warmer weather outside, it felt cold to me inside the house so I sat down with a warm throw and a heating pad and got cozy and comfy. It was chilly this morning and the electricity was out at the church when I arrived for Sunday school. The electric company was called and they came and got it fixed in time for church.

Kat, good for you, taking your walk! We have chance of rain on Tuesday too.

Wilde Woman, a nice beginning of a warm up for you. I hope it continues. Whatever's in that cup looks good.

Robin, what a cute picture of your little granddaughter and her dad. She's sparkling and he's beaming. I love the way you celebrated your mom by remembering her together! I can't imagine anything that would honor a mother/grandmother better than that. Great idea!

Squirrel, your body has taken a beating. I hope the relief from the shots will last a good while. I can't imagine your house ever not being presentable! Even if you got off your schedule and missed a cleaning day, it would have a long way to to to really get dirty.

OC, it sounds like you needed a down day just to rest.

Getting the shots is an ordeal. First my doctor presses his thumb in to separate the bones in my shoulder. That's when the tears start from the pain. Then says I'll feel a pinch when the looong needle goes in....NOPE. It hurts like you know what. Then he moves the needle around in the bursa sac as he injects the drug. I almost passed out this time. Then repeat the same process with my knee.

He knows how much I hate getting the shots, and how painful they are for me. He never questions when I tell him I think I need one in my shoulder due to painful and greatly diminished range of motion though he usually makes me show him that my arm won't go back or up because he has to report the degrees of movement to justify for insurance to pay. Though I didn't ask for it, he decided that my knee needed one due to the swelling that was pushing my kneecap at a weird angle to the right

FYI, I started yawning a couple of years ago, My eyes weren't tired, but I couldn't stop yawning. I leaned my head back
to see if that would help. It did.

rs, I hope you feel better after your shots.

OC, I'm glad the electric company got the power back on your church.

Tho we got up to 25 outside today, it seems colder inside for some reason. Was overcast all morning, but the sun finally came out around 11 a.m. Went to church, and then out to breakfast with a couple friends and a couple who is leaving to check on their home in Fl. Got flooded with the big storm they had down there, & now with so many homes needing repairs, everything is backed up, out of stock, etc. etc. They usually spend the winter there, but came back in Dec., now tho going down, they'd like to stay til April or May, but......may be back in a month or so.....who knows. So we were 5 people, had a nice long jabbering session. LOL, wished them well, hope and pray that their home is at least started on. They said the most important was to remove the dry wall, before mold takes over. She had to get rid of a lot of her clothes as even washing them 2 or 3 times did not get them back in good shape.
We had a bit of wind pick up in the afternoon, the sun made some slush in the parking areas, but doesn't seem to have made a dent in the snow on the roof. Hope all is well with all of you, and enjoy your warmer temps, and know I am really jealous. LOL (but I do like we have light earlier in a.m., and a bit later in the afternoon. Not much, but every extra minute now is sooo very welcome.

P.S. Robin, please have a safe drive, actually, hope you are back home by now. Your grandaughter is absolutely adorable, she sure looks happy.
RS.....Do you get those shots regularly ? Egads. Hope you are feeling better now.
WW......For a couple days we were having the same temps, but....you got warmer than we did. Enjoy!
Kat, glad you get to walk, good exercise. My daughter walks every morning, too (Houston). Guess I have to do something about dinner. Take care all.

Poirot, I wish you could get a few days of real warmth! I have noticed the warmer it gets outside, the colder it stays inside my house. The heat doesn't come on as often. I hope your friends can get their work done in Florida. After that horrible freeze in Texas a couple of years ago there was a lot of flooding when it thawed out. Plumbers got so far behind, I don't know if they ever got caught up. It all played in with Covid so a lot of people never did go back to work so plumbers and others can't get help--or supplies--as they once did.

Kat, I sometimes have that same yawning problem. I'm so going to try your method the next time it happens!

Squirrel, my stomach drew up in a knot when I read about you getting those shots. I never had the kind of problem you have with my shoulder but I did have "frozen shoulder" (adhesive capsulitis) years ago and got a cortisone shot in it, which was painful and as far as I could tell, did nothing to help. Your having to get the shot in the knee, right after the shoulder, was a double whammy. I hope it will have paid off for you by the time you have to go back to work tomorrow.

Full moon tonight. It was really pretty about an hour ago.
Poirot, I haven't noticed the additional light, mainly because I keep my curtains closed early and late, but I am noticing the sun is getting farther over to the north as it goes across the sky. That dictates which curtains I have to close and when.
