It's going to be a quiet day in the neighborhood today.... not much planned just hang out wrap packages prepare boxes for shipping.... Cookies can't ship till really cool so they won't be boxed up today.....
Yesterday we went to Grandson's musical performance..... he was part of an all state band, it was great and in the middle of the day so we got home before dark or would have if the quick trip to the store hadn't taken forever....
I went to the store twice recently.... once I picked up the donuts and a gift card, the woman in line ahead of me checked me out 3 times but never asked if I wanted to go ahead of her totally filled cart.... that's okay she was in line first.... the people in front of her however were problems, the man wanted a line by line break down of the grocery list because it was more than he had figured in his head. This item was a by one get one (BOGO) did you take the second one off, I had a coupon X on this item... and so on. The manager walked by and had the cashier finalize the sale and took the couple to the counter to figure it out, he'd refund any money if needed at the customer service counter.... the Lady in front of me then went through and she too had coupons....and issues so my quick run into the store was 30 minutes....

then yesterday I went in for Milk a product I don't drink or use so didn't know we were out of the day before or I could have gotten it then.... and the line was again long, the lady in front of me this time was in one of the helper driving carts.... she got her stuff all good but she never pulled up or out of the lane.... my order had been scanned and bagged and the man looked at me and gave me the price, twice.... I looked at him and then nodded towards cart lady, he asked her poilitely to more forward. She had totally spaced that she was in the grocery store holding up the only checker's line. She apologized and moved on, I paid and headed to the car another 25 minute run to the store....

I'm staying home today.....

Good Sunday to all.....

It's cloudy this morning and in the 50s. Rain expected this afternoon.

My church had Friday the 13th today. It has two services and both online. I'm host for the 2nd one. The service didn't come
up anywhere. Last week's service was on the web site. I checked out the early service and the sound wasn't working. I hope the
pastor redoes the sermon since we're discussing important women in the Bible. I basically wasted an hour.

robin, sorry your quick trips weren't very quick. I ask people if they want in front of me. Most of the time, they say no.

I hope everyone has a relaxing rest of the day.

I didn't mind at first not going through first.... with a box of donuts and a gift card I was not a long stop..... the second time I couldn't reach the machine to pay because I'd have had to crawl over the cart to get to it. I even tried handing the card to the guy to run it but that's not an option any longer. I understand wanting to get your purse/wallet all back in place before heading outside but come on.... move out of the line to do so....

Then on the way home we were stopped by one of the longest slowest moving trains in all of Kansas..... maybe not but it did take some time to get by.....

It's a balmy, but windy, sunny 54 degrees. Took a short walk.

Robin: Enjoyed reading about your store adventures. I always ask others with less if they want to go ahead of me, and most times, they don't. I have seen fights break out over such insignificant things, it's unbelievable what I have witnessed. If the person directly in front of me asks if I will hold their place for a minute while they get something else, I will, and sometimes others get nasty about it, thinking the person is cutting the line when they return. With all the unrest in the world, this should not even be considered a "thing." You are so right about store etiquette, Robin!

Kat: So sorry your online service did not work out. Hopefully, next time.

Everyone have a great rest of the day.

Oh, Robin, I just got back from stopping at store for just a few things after church......and when I paid, (cash) got change, and got out of the checker line into the space back of the bagger to put away the change. You would have appreciated me, I am guessing. LOL
We are cloudy, and cannot make out if snow or rain, or just a very very almost rain snow. LOL. Hits the windshield looks like snow, but the hood when I leave the car said rain. But since temp is36...who knows. And by Thursday we will be getting a high of 2 above Such fun.

You know, I have often asked someone behind me with just a few items, not even a cart at times, to go ahead........they always say no..........except just once, and the person was very grateful, was late for something already.
We do have a 20 items or less checkout, and also a self checkout. It is odd that those with just a few items won't use it. But I guess, most are just in no hurry, and even if just a few words, like the chance to chat with someone.

I rarely use the self check out I do at Costco if I've run in for one item.... I feel it's a way to stop having people work in the store..... Cart woman was a problem only because the cashier had already scanned and bagged my stuff, and I couldn't scan my debit card.... I have stopped carrying cash for the most part.....
I'd have accepted jumping the line Friday as it was late, we'd been out for quite some time and I had "peopled" enough, but usually I turn down the offer as I'm not normally in a hurry, wasn't yesterday other than I held up the line through no fault of my own....

You know, I have never used self checkout either........I remember someone wrote a sarcastic but humorous note online to some store (tho they did it on Facebook) saying publicly they expected to be paid if the store wants them to do the checker's job.

It is so foggy out, it rained for a while, and while I know it gets dark a lot earlier now....it sure is dark out there for being just 3:30.

I'll gladly go through a 10-20 item line but not a self check. If I tried that it would take me so long just trying to read and understand the instructions, it would hold up me and any line behind me longer than any regular line could ever be. Then I probably couldn't figure it out anyway.

Robin and Wilde Woman, some may think Texas is still the wild west but after hearing of your grocery shopping experiences I think I'd be afraid to even go shopping in your areas. As far as I can recall, I've never seen anybody in any kind of altercation in a store. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life after all.
