12/7/2024 - Donuts and Pearl Harbor Day

Thanks for the reminder about Pearl Harbor Day. It was also Uncle Rafe's birthday. Haha. I had a g-uncle whose birthday was the same as Pearl Harbor so in our home somebody would always mention Pearl Harbor Day and someone else would quickly remind us it was also Uncle Rafe's birthday. Funny how little things like that can stick with us throughout a lifetime.

My traveling son and his family just headed out toward Dallas so I'm collecting my thoughts and debating on whether to start right in washing and cleaning or to maybe just crawl back into bed and let the dust settle first. Guess I'll eat some lunch first thing, then I'll put in the first of many loads of laundry to wash before deciding whether or not to take a nap. I haven't had one in quite a while. Certainly not in the past week and a half and for some time before that, since I hadn't been taking naps lately, even before the kids came.

It's raining here, off and on. My son was really hoping to get out of here before any rain arrived, since it's not always easy for them to find a place to wash their camper, but it had already started by the time they left. Hope it wasn't too muddy for them. I was able to see them make the last curve on the hill before getting to the state highway--with my binoculars--so I know they made it to the paved farm-market road okay. That's not saying they got there without any mud on their camper though. But maybe minimal if he took the advice of his mother to GO SLOW.

It sunny and in low 60s this afternoon. It's going to be cloudy and a chance of rain on Sunday.

I walked after I got home doing errands and working at the little library. I doing cleaning
this afternoon.

OC, I'm glad you had a nice visit with your son and his family.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

Currently 39 and blustery. I was out for a short time, it was refreshing.

Robin: Thank you for the Pearl Harbor Remembrance image.

OC: Nice story about your Uncle Rafe. Glad you had some family time. Listen to your body, and if you need a nap, take a nap!

Kat: Pretty mild in your neck of the woods.

Wishing everyone a lovely rest of the day.
