Be safe out there..... should you venture out...... the arctic blast has started hitting us and I can say with terrific honesty I'm not a fan of the wind and cold.... the wind blew my little decorated pine tree down last night we brought it in but I'm not sure it will survive the fall..... just hoping those with fire works don't start early and last forever..... The BEAST can't take the noise.....

Good morning,,,,,,,,,snowed here during the night.....and must have had wind gusts, as the snow is piled in patches in some areas, with none in others. Streets and driveways and roofs are white, while huge grassy areas are still green, tho dots of snow here and there.
Forgot about fireworks, or rather the firecrackers, gunshots, etc. but, those will start this evening, probably.
Wishing you all a wonderful day, a very Happy New Year, and good health for the year. And good times. God Bless!

Looks like I may have to work till 9 instead of getting off at 4
I warned boss it will put me at 40 hours so she checking she doesn't want us to work overtime

Hope the time works to your satisfaction, Sexton.

Poirot, don't walk off into one of those snow drifts and get lost. :)

Robin, I'm so sorry about your little tree. I hope it survives.

Kat, thanks for the picture. It takes care of ALL the celebrating I need.

A cold front moved in here during the night but not too dramatic. It was in the 30s*/40s* this morning, should reach 55*. Sunny but breezy. I got up early, went back to bed and slept until around 8:00. Have done nothing but breakfast and it's already time to get something together for my lunch.

I hope everyone's neighborhoods don't get too active tonight. We always got fireworks in our Christmas stockings and my dad supervised the use of them, especially the Roman candles. We didn't get to do them in July because of dry conditions and fire danger but honestly, winters were dry too. The only difference was there was so much more overall heat in the summer months. On the other hand, there wasn't as much wind in the summertime. I think Daddy liked fireworks himself and wanted us to have them at least once in the year. No tv or area displays for seeing them back then.

Wishing everyone a good year to come.

Sunny and 51. Possible rain tonight. Times Square revelers have been advised to wear ponchos/jackets with hoods, no umbrellas! No backpacks! No anything! They can start to find places to stand at 3 pm, but once you leave, you can't go back. These days, hard to stay up to see the ball drop so end up watching a replay.

Nice image, Kat!

Robin: I don't like the wind, either. I hope THE BEAST endures the noise. I am not a fan of fireworks, myself.

rfsexton: I hope you don't end up working so late after all. You deserve a break.

OC: Have a tranquil night!

Wishing all the very best in the coming year.

Betty Boop and Benchie!

It's cloudy again and in the low 40s, but feels colder with the wind. Tomorrow AM it will be
in the 20s.

No big plans tonight except have fun snacks watching a movie. Fireworks will go off at
midnight since not allowed at another time today.

I just read bird flu is officially in my state. A chicken farm on the other side of the state from
me has over 200,000 sick chickens.

rf, I hope your boss found out you can't work later tonight. If you have to, be careful on
the way home.

robin, sorry to hear about tree. I hope no fireworks in your area.

OC, I'm glad you got extra sleep.

Poirot, it sounds like a good evening to stay in with the snow.

Wilde Woman, I won't be staying up to watch the ball drop. I don't know if I ever did.

I hope everyone has a safe evening.

It looks pretty, Robin. Hope it holds.

Yea, Sexton!!

Kat, I agree with the person who posted that clip. And to think, it wasn't even dark yet and they were all going to have to stay put until midnight.

Me, I'm going to bed now......
