Good morning all,,,,,,,,,,hope everyone had a good day yesterday, today enjoying gifts and leftovers.....lol.
Another cloudy, rather gloomy day, but so far, the snow/sleet, or whatever has yet to appear. I think it is due to arrive Saturday now.......who knows?
Really deserted here, so many are evidently gone (can tell cuz no lights when it gets dark, Ha) But, am sure folks will be returning within the next few days. (unless they stay wherever til after New year), but that is rare. most want to be home, and safe then. Want to laugh? Wanted to watch It's a Wonderful Life for the umpteenth time, but fell asleep before it started (boring program before it), woke up it was over. Boo, Hiss on me. Should have put on record. But guess was so tired...cuz I put on PJs and was asleep again within 5 min............but of course woke up at 4 a.m. , tossed and turned for more than an hour, finally dozing off, but wide awake at 7.
Take care........enjoy the day!

Another cloudy day. It's going and close to 60. Rain later.

I woke up early this morning. I slept a little longer, but woke up again. I finally got up
before 5.My mind starts thinking about stuff and I can't get back to sleep. I'll probably
doze off later when I'm reading a book or watching TV.

It's hard to remember what day of the week it is because of the holiday. I worked at the
little library today. Nothing else going on here.

Poirot, I hope you'll sleep better tonight.

Happy Kwanzaa, Boxing Day and Hanukkah to those who celebrate.

We've made it to Phoenix. It's been challenging..... but I haven't harmed anyone..... tempted yes.... but HB and BEAST are safe.... for now....

For Christmas dinner my sister, did a large leg of lamb, a large chicken, egg plant Parmesan, roasted potatoes, brussels sprouts, asparagus, salad and olive bread. When she told me what she was fixing I said for 5??? we barely harmed the lamb or chicken.... she's fixing Hanukah dinner Saturday night for the family. Christmas eve was ham, shrimp, pesto pasta, bread, fish stew, I teased her that I couldn't eat the fish stew because she forgot the octopus or the store was out.... (I never have the fish, or shrimp)

Tomorrow is Doctor appointment day then Stepmother day.....

I hope everyone is doing well....

robin, your sister cooked a lot. I hope she can use of the food for Hanukah. I hope HB appointment goes well.

OC, I hope you're enjoying your visit.

rf, I'm glad you had a good day.

My mom used to cook like that for holiday dinner. usually would invite family relatives from Milwaukee to come...Thanksgiving.....but Christmas, we'd go there sometimes.....others to my aunt's, (dad's side of the family). That is a lot of food...does your sis freeze meals for the future, with leftovers?

We normally have 20 for Christmas Eve and 23 for Christmas......
None of the food for Christmas Eve and Christmas is used for the Hanukkah dinner, she does a pot roast and latkes this year she is unsure on what vegetable to serve.... Saturday I'll be having whatever the Love's Gas Station restaurant has, fingers crossed it's not Carl's Jr.
Yes she freezes and will consume the food over a couple of days. I have the 12 pound ham she told me to purchase with me. What I'm going to do with 8 pounds of ham is unclear at this point...... some will be used for New Year's Days beans but the rest??? It sits sealed in zip locks and plastic bags and 7 pounds of ice....

Robin, if you have company (or not)thaw some ham. Put some frozen hash browns in a 9x13 (buttered/olive oiled) single layer, chop up some ham, add chopped vegetables that you like on top. In another bowl, whisk a bunch of eggs and add a bunch of crated cheese that you like, add a bit of milk, whisk again and pour over the top, add salt& pepper or whatever seasonings you like. Then top with more shredded cheese and bake at 375 degrees for 45-60 min or till nicely browned on top. It's yummy and freezes well.
