Good morning. It was in the 20s* this morning but improving now that the sun is out. Birds are more active than usual and I've seen deer out front and out back.

I have lots of stuff piled up from slouching around for the past week or so with my ailments. Trying to make a beginning at getting some issues cleared away. I have a question for those of you who are so much more informed about what's what in this confusing new world than I am. I got a message on my cell phone this morning, which I assume to be a scam unless I'm told otherwise. It's about a USPS parcel being cleared due to an invalid zipcode....parcel is detained temporarily, please confirm zipcode.....etc. Wants me to go to browser and do I don't know or care what because this all falls under the category of reasons why I don't use a cell phone for much.

I've been hearing there is a scam going around about people getting unexpected packages, etc. so I don't know if this is it or not. Calling the local post office is impossible. Any input here would be appreciated.

Wishing all of you a good day!

It's a scam. Don't reply or go to any browser on your computer. These scam calls/messages, emails and texts have been going around for years now. Just ignore it (or any emails you might get saying something similar). You also get the same calls/emails/texts claiming the same thing except they're supposedly from FedEx, UPS, DHL, Amazon, etc.

I think we've probably all gotten those calls/emails/texts over the years. At work, we have to sit through classes every year on scams like this. Don't you know that someone clicked a bad link earlier this year that opened the door for our system to be hacked and hit with ransomware. We were down for days and they had to pay hundreds of thousands to the hackers.

Oh the amount of spam text and calls it have gotten..... including my favorite this week, a warrant has been taken out in my name, a name totally mispronounced, when the text voice said it and if I call them and agree to pay THEM they will clear the warrant for me...... sure..... I'll call ya back right after the 5th of never.......

cold here.... Beast still limps working theory strained elbow tendon.... so rest and meds for a month then if no improvement.... K-state college and then the more expensive folks look at him.... if I win the lottery that will happen.....

It's Thursday..... I hope everyone has a great day......

Good afternoon,

Agree with the above, don't reply, just delete! I get all kinds of emails like that all the time. Definitely was worried and confused at first, but realized replying would make things worse!

Robins, hoping for the best for Beast.

Chilly here, though looks as if the last few (rainy) days were mild...A big cold front and snow is headed this way...

Just got back from Florida with my fiancé Chris. We did three days with his family in Orlando for Universal and Disney World (my first time, though I've done Disney in California many times). It was nice, though cold the first day and chilly in the evenings. We went for two days to West Palm Beach for relaxation by the the sea and warmer weather, just got back to Philly last night. Back to the gym grind and work! And lots of Christmas/Hanukkah shopping.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

It's sunny and the high in the low 50s. Tomorrow sunny and the high only in the 30s.

I went to the library an hour earlier today because I'm seeing the Broadway show "Shucked"
this afternoon. It's suppose to be funny. I'll be home tomorrow Friday.

OC, I'm glad you're having a nice day except the bad text.

robin, I hope the Beast gets enough rest.

DaysD, thanks for the update and enjoy the shopping.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Oh, wow, is it ever snowing......LOL, forecast said would not start til this evening. Ha. We are around 20°, so cold, windy, too. But, I guess, nothing unusual for up north. Never used to bother me, but somehow now, I want it to end soon, tho I know at least 3 more months of this have to go by first. Ugh.

Sexton, if only.......

Thanks to all of you for the input. I was pretty sure that was the case. The thing is, I get stuff like that on my computer all the time and I do delete them as they come in. But it caught me off guard because I usually don't see these things when they come into my cell phone, since I don't often look at my cell phone. (It's full of junk that needs to be deleted, including calls I've gotten from people I know but didn't know they called). This time, my phone just happened to be on the table next to where I was sitting.

Poirot, I saw earlier that your part of the world is going to be getting more snow than it's had in the past couple of years. It will probably be a pretty Christmas but I wouldn't want to have to go anywhere in it. Hope you can stay in and be safe and warm.

Kat, enjoy the show.

Degrassi, from Florida to Philly this time of year...uh oh....stay warm.

Robin, poor Vinnie. Here's hoping he improves during the month's rest, and that his pain isn't as bad as it looks while he gets better.

Per a news story on PBS pink eye is a symptom in people: Symptoms of H5 bird flu infection in humans include eye redness or discharge, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, diarrhea, vomiting, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue, trouble breathing and fever

If you work around birds or cattle this is information you need to heed.
