Good morning, wis 18°, and snowing lightly. A surprise as it was supposed to start tomorrow. Boy, pitch dark at 6:30 a.m. Scary.Just a couple more days to shortest day of year, and we will be going the other way, tho no notice for a while, probably. have a blood check tomorrow, so hope the weather cooperates, and if not, the plows will be out. LOL
Hope mother nature is kind to you all.......take care............

I look forward to the return of the light! Raining hard here this morning. We've had some strong gusts of wind, but not as bad as was predicted. So far. There are spots of power outages, but nothing close to what we experienced last Saturday.

High in 70s today Then a cool down

New schedule is out. I have to work Christmas day. So much for boss's comments working Thanksgiving should give us option of whether or not we work Christmas. Too bad we don't get extra holiday pay.

Good morning.... cool start to our day.... we were 58 yesterday and expected to be 44 today..... which is still above average for this location.... BEAST is at the doctor's today.... more x-rays the little guy is still limping... they still have no idea why.... but he did gain a pound since September so he will be on a diet starting today.... no more little snacks....perhaps I too should follow that regime. eek no Christmas cookies? no Christmas pudding??? nooooooooooooo

enjoy Wednesday......next Wednesday is Christmas.... should you need help tracking the day.......

Currently 49 sunny degrees, getting rain later. Lots of pigeon action today.

Poirot: I hope the blood check goes well and the weather cooperates with your travel.

rfsexton: So sorry you have to work on Christmas Day.

Robin: I hope THE BEAST's limp is figured out. Start your no-snacks regime in January!

Old Cowgirl: Do you like to wear COWls?

We are midweek for those with a Monday-Friday work week...rejoice!

It's sunny and 50 at my house. We had rain during the night so it wasn't too cold for walking except
the wind. Tomorrow it will be in the 30s in the AM.

Since I didn't have bible study today, I went to the place where I took things to sell last year. I got rid
of more jewelry and she's going to tell a friend I have antiques to get rid of. I hope person calls.

I called the church before I went to find out the door problem. People are going to get Fobs, but so
far they aren't working. I won't get anything until next week since I'm busy Thurs and office closed Friday.

rf, sorry to hear you're working Christmas. I hope they give you something for working the holidays.

OC, I bought a mini weather station. It lets me know the actual temp outside my house since other
places with local temps aren't close to my house. I didn't get the fancy one at Amazon.

Poirot, good luck getting out tomorrow.

Lil0, I'm glad big wind missed you this time.

robin, I hope they can figure what's wrong with Vinnie.

I hope everyone has a nice rest of the day.

Boy, we all are busy in one way or another. Me.......my Christmas stuff is up, as is the tree.......tho I will have no company except for the TV. LOL. Family is scattered far away, all over, as I have mentioned. Neighbors have family they go to.......glad I have church, and a few friends here. Lots of others just like me, I guess........tho one doesn't know. You know, in the past, I used to see Christmas lights in windows, but I don't anymore. I guess trees are put in other areas now, in corners, or perhaps not even up. When I lived in Illinois, thru the PTA I organized some caroling. Yep, we'd meet at the school, and go out into the neighborhoods, ring a few doorbells, and sing, then move on. First year was just the adult PTA members, but kids wanted to come, and soon the various neighborhoods really looked forward to the caroling. Twas fun, People began to have cookies, pieces of cake, paper cups of hot chocolate for us. Really was fun and people loved it. Alas, moving up north, living rural, that was not something that could be done. I thought the schools would do a Christmas singalong, but nope. Folks love that sort of thing......don't know why even any of the various churches don't do something like that.
But then, heck, I no longer bake Christmas cookies, times change.

Do hope you all will be enjoying the upcoming holidays, including a few clinks of the glasses. LOL Get busy now, just one more week! Me, I got the blood test tomorrow, gonna try to get to the store before the snow hits. Today just a few flurries. Tomorrow the big stuff is due. Gotta tell ya.....tis C O L D!

I remember going out caroling in the neighborhood, folks would have us in... it was cold for Los Angeles.... a heat wave for you Poirot....we moved north and no one did that.... I can't remember if we put lights up on the house, so we most likely did... we always had a tree.... always a fight my father wanted one type the rest of us didn't but he was the MAN the WAGE EARNER so we got the type he liked.... first Christmas he was gone we had the type we liked.... He had my stepmother continued with the sparse trees he loved..... and tinsel.....
school winter programs are non secular now..... as they should be unless it's a church run school....
we were out a bit tonight saw some lights up.... i have one of 3 houses with lights in our neighborhood....weird.... I sent out 57 cards to family and friends...I've received 5..... I won't be going through that hassle next year.....

got to 44 today will be in the mid to high 50's tomorrow..... weird weather continues.....

Vinnie is home.... I'm $600 poorer and we have no clue as to why he is limping..... more house arrest and quiet for 30 days then reevaluate.....

My dad used to string the cards they got a long the walls. As they got older, less cards came. My mom had a odd way
to keep track who sent them cards. She crossed off names when they didn't send them cards. I mailed over 15 cards,
but I won't get that many back.

robin, that's a lot of cards you mailed.

Canadian Post will be accepting mail soon??? great I have nieces and nephews in Canada that I haven't been able to mail... and private carriers FedEx and UPS are really expensive for a single envelope.....

My Ex has 9 siblings and they have kids so most of the mail goes to them.....but not next year....

What do they tell people how to get their bills paid....to companies out of town??? I mean credit csrd companies, utilities, medical facilities etc. are usually located elsewhere......not in the towns one lives in?????

I believe a lot of people have switched to online bill notifications and payments. It's been very Schmitty are those people who are on what we call AISH (assisted Income for the Severely Handicapped), Old Age Security, social assistance recipientswere not receiving their cheques, setting them back financially. I'm sure there are many others who were affected. I heard that photo radar tickets were being delivered by hand to people as they would not receive the ticket in the mail causing an late payment charge on top of the original charge of the ticket. People can have this reduced if they were affected, I'm sure but it certainly has disrupted EVERYTHING.

I just on the news that today, Canada Post will be accepting new mail/parcels. The government forced them back on the job with their existing contract extended for 6 months. SO, this could all happen again in the new year.
