Where has 2024 gone?? This is amazing.... it's December I'm finally used to writing 2024 when asked to enter a date and in 30 more days they will want me to remember it's 2025.... that's just too much.....
I've basically recovered from the COVID vaccine.... why they hit me but not HB I have no idea, but then he gets them the same time I do and he gets COVID in between vaccines.... so who knows.....

It's also World AIDS Day...... that was the first pandemic I lived through and lost friends from the disease.... in a world where you can be anything..... be KIND......

Happy December 1st..... off to find cow pictures for OC....

A blustery 33 degrees. Won't go out today, will just do a little bit of this, a little bit of that in the apartment.

Robin: So true about the year flying by. It is so random when people react to any vaccination. I am glad you are feeling better. Thank you for posting that article, but one must create a free account to read it; I will try to do that later. The pigeons do have an amazing origin story.

I, too, lost friends early on in the AIDS pandemic. I never forget them, they are always close to my heart and part of my memories.

Let's all make the first day of the month count.

Blustery or not, 33 is better than 9 and snow. LOL. Yep, tis snowing, seems lightly right now, but there is snow from yesterday on sidewalks and streets, so, it adds. Cloudy, but we will get all the way up to upper teens, they say. Also have a lot of odds and ends, small stuff b ut it adds up, and one must make way for Christmas "stuff". Last year I was very ill around Thanksgiving, landed in the hospital, and just did not have the energy to do anything. And now, Am not sure. I have my little tree out of the garage, not sure the lights on it still work. LOL (I got out of the hospital but then had a relapse in December, so just making sure I am taking care of ME this year) Tis hard when no family in area, friends busy with their families, so......yes, am trying to be very careful. I definitely do not need to slip and fall.

Everyone: To read the article on pigeons, just enter your mail, hit "Got it," and then read. You do not have to subscribe. It is worth taking a minute to do this, fascinating article. I learned a lot! I had no idea pigeons mated for life. That explains a lot.

Robin - Thank you for thinking of me and posting!

It was cloudy and in the mid 30s when I walked this morning. I went out later than usual since I
have another cold. IT's sunny and in the 40s this afternoon.

I put two turkey dinners in the freezer this morning.

FYI, Peacock started showing "The Waltons" today.

robin, I'm glad you're feeling better now.

Wilde Woman, I hope you get your chores done today.

Poirot, good luck with your tree.

I hope everyone has a nice rest of the day.

Good afternoon everyone.

Worked at the kids' Christmas party at the American Legion today. It was fun, but now I have a terrible headache from the noise. We limit it to age 10 and under with 2 adults per child. Two families showed up with 7 adults each but there was only 1 child . Grrr. Another family had 6 adults with only 1 child. Several families also had extra teenagers and young adults. We had to have the kitchen make extra food which ran up our costs. Since most of the officers were working, we decided that next year everyone accompanying a child will have to pay for their meals when they sign up the kids.
The kids each receive a gift from our Santa. We spend $75 per child. That includes the gift plus a filled stocking.

I must get my garbage bin out to the road. Then maybe I'll put some ornaments on my Christmas tree.

Going back to work tomorrow. I don't even feel like I had a 2 week vacation since I was sick most of the time.

rs, sorry to hear about the party and that your vacation didn't go as planned.

Ah, love that, Robin. Good old Texas A&M stomping grounds. My grandfather graduated from there well over 100 years ago and now my granddaughter is about to do the same.

I had a longer message typed in here but then got distracted and lost it. My oldest son and his daughter left around noon. Now traveling youngest son and his family are the only ones left here and they'll stay till the end of this week.

Cow pic unavailable to me.......need a code or something.......Instagram just frequently is a problem

Poirot it is a video of a man and his dog riding a Texas Longhorn bull downtown crossing the street with pedestrians. The bull has a saddle and a bridle on and is not bothered by either pedestrians or car traffic just causally walking down the street.
