I'm out of here to volunteer at a Central State Soccer Championship game..... it rained all day yesterday from about midnight to midnight.... fields should be soggy..... it's breezy and cool...... I will dress in layers...... pray I don't need more......

I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.......

It's cloudy here today after rain last night. It's in the 60s.

I had a substitute mailman today and I had to tell him I was getting a package. He finally
found it. He put it in the wrong place in his truck.

I talked my regular mailman yesterday about my neighbor's mail since she's having it forwarded. He's putting
stickers on, but she's hardly getting anything. Anyway, he told me the one Monday I didn't get mail no
one in my subdivision did and the mail disappeared. It's under investigation.

robin, I hope you had boots to wear in the mud today. I hope you stayed warm enough.

I hope everyone is having a pleasant day.

NY received two more air quality alerts due to the wildfires in NJ. I only went as far as my market downstairs but could not escape the awful smell in the air. It hit me as soon as I got to the lobby of my building. I can well imagine how much worse it is closer to the areas affected. So very tragic. No significant rain anytime soon.

Robin: I would love to have soggy grass here. Hope your day went well.

Kat: Hope the mail situation gets cleared up. We have issues here, too, when the regular mail carrier is on vacation.

rfsexton: You are sure working hard. Sorry about the allergies. I did not know they could flare up from chlorine, either, but I Googled it and found out it is true.

Everyone enjoy the rest of your day.

Hi all,

Were visiting my parents and helped my dad put up Xmas lights and my mom do clean the outside windows by holding the ladder. She refused to let me get up the ladder to clean so I just held it for her.

My mom turns 80 this week so we are taking my parents out for dinner then going to see the stage production of Clue. I've heard good things about it. I love the movie with Madeline Kahn, Tim Curry, Martin Mull, Christopher Lloyd.

Have a good day everyone.

Muzz, your mom gives a whole new meaning to "independent." It must have been a curious sight to see you holding the ladder while she went up it and cleaned windows. Of course it also speaks to what good condition she must be in!

Wilde Woman, I'm sorry you still have the drought and smoke invading your area. But for those in the fire zone, yes, so tragic! What an adorable picture. My dad brought little girl Dutch bonnets to my sister and me after the War and I always wanted some of the shoes (clogs?) but never had them.

Sexton, I get it about chlorine and allergies. I can't have any products with chlorine in my house. Also, the last time I went into a swimming pool, nearly 45 years ago, my whole right leg went numb from the chlorine.

Kat, I hope you didn't have anything of value in that lost mail. Maybe they'll get it back???

Robin, I sure hope you didn't freeze out in that cold, soggy weather.

I went to town and got a haircut this morning. I went to a different town, different hair dresser, someone I used to go to a long time ago. She did a good cut but shorter than I expected. A razor cut, which hardly anybody will do anymore. My hair grows fast so I will like it better in a couple of weeks.

Sexton first thing I did when I moved into my house was change the pool from Chlorine to Salt. I can't stand it.

Spent today running around buying Christmas stuff, then wrapped my haul for my grandson. Nice to have things to wrap again as I it's been all gift cards for my 'kids' in recent years.

Cool here but sunny and beautiful.

My hairdresser did the same last haircut........and I also figured ....well in a few weeks, will be fine.......but it took nearly 4 months. My hair now is growing very slowly (which I had not noticed, but when I think back to haircut times.......yep, it has. Got thinner, finer......ah, they don't tell you that is part of the aging. But, no longer have to shave legs, lololol.
I am trying to let my hair grow some, since it got so thin.....so.......last haircut for me was in March....and my hair has not even grown to the bottom of the ear lobe yet.

Wow…. Let me say there is something to be said about sitting outside in 50 degree weather with a strong breeze for 6 hours…. Not much good but something can be said….. We sold a lot of merchandise, I had a terrible, horrible lunch and am now home trying to warm up…… Lunch was a hotdog…. A cold hotdog… I asked for some mustard and the girl replied “On a hotdog?” okay ketchup? They didn’t have that either…. And sadly my free food voucher did not allow for the nacho cheese cup of cheese to go on my cold hotdog…. But I did get some diet Dr. Pepper….. so caffeine is always a plus…. Game 1 of 3 ended 2 to 1 so a good game, Game 2 of 3 the red wolves 7 the other guys 0 that was a good game for only half the crowd…. Game 3 was going on as I left and half time had just ended it was 1 to 0 lots of shots on goal but the keeper was doing his part for both teams…..my nose is dripping like mad due to the wind I'm sure.... layers helped I wasn't cold till the sun went down, then is was miserable fortunately I was miserable for only 30 minutes....

On to Sunday.....

Brisby, how nice it must be to have some Christmas shopping done this far ahead of time! I bet grandson will love getting a gift from you.

Poirot, I wonder if some of your medications could maybe slow down your hair growth. I've often wondered too why older people never told me anything about what getting older was like. But I agree, no longer having to shave is a big plus!

Robin, once again you've made a miserable situation sound funny. But a cold hotdog? With no mustard? (I don't think I could have eaten ketchup on it even if they'd had it). Hope your sniffles were temporary.

Oh I almost forgot the reason I got on here. Does anybody (Robin?) know what the long white streaks in the sky were earlier tonight? I rarely go outside after dark but had to go out to my car for something. There were two long white "strips" or "stripes" in the west/northwest sky. At first I thought it was an airplane trail but I don't know that I've ever seen those in the dark, and besides, it looked like there were two parallel, almost connected, and they looked flatter than an airplane trail--more like white strips painted on highways. I went in and got my binoculars and when I got back out the lines were fading, seemed to be moving north, maybe. They faded out pretty soon and my eyesight isn't so great.

I don't know if it would helpful, but I take a vitamin that helps skin, hair and nails. My mom wore
her hair short when she got older. She would go with my dad to the barber.

Muzzaman, enjoy your mom's birthday. It's good she still wants to do things at her age.

brisbydog. it's good you got your shopping done before the crowds get bigger.

robin, sorry to hear about your day. Enjoy Sunday.

OC, I wasn't outside tonight so I didn't see anything.
