A soggy good morning to all. I got 2.8" of rain overnight and there's another big round of it entering into my county now. Chances of rain today are 100%. It will all be gone by tonight though, and it looks like we'll have sunny skies into most of next week.

I woke up at 4:30 and am still debating on getting back in bed to see if I can doze a little more. Otherwise I'll no doubt need a nap before noon.

Poirot--and everyone else--I hope you got some good rest.

Mornin: all.........Also woke at 4 a.m. But finally dozen back around 5, but did not last long. Quarter to 6 was awake again, and despite stayin in bed for another hour, as it got lighter and lighter out, decided sleep was not going to return. It was already 7..........
Will probably shuffle around for a while, catch up on a few tasks, I definitely have to go to the store, but for now, there is a few things in the house, plus breakfast. LOL

A surprise this morning with the sun coming out. It's windy. It's suppose to rain late this
afternoon and early Sat morning.

I woke up before 2 this morning. It took awhile to get back to sleep. I dusted this morning.
Then I took a quick trip to UPS in town. I had to return shoes to Amazon. I just wore my
home clothes and put on a stocking cap. Studying this afternoon.

OC, I'm glad you received rain.

Poirot, I hope you get your shopping done.

I hope everyone has a good afternoon.

Morning all..... it started raining early this morning, around 1 am..... we too have 100% chance of rain today and should expect another 1-3 inches of rain.....The fields yesterday were dry, the rain from earlier in the week had soaked in so more rain for the dirt.....
I need to get moving but alas.... there's a sleeping poodle on my lap.....I'll be here for bit longer.....

Good Friday to all.....

Boy, do we need the rain. This just came out from Notify NYC:
Due to wildfires in New Jersey, residents in NYC may see or smell smoke. A Red Flag Warning is also in effect citywide until 6PM today. Winds of 5-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and temperatures of up to 67 degrees are expected. These conditions will result in increased brush fire risk.

OC: Send us your leftover rain, please.

Poirot: Good luck with all your tasks.

Kat: Enjoy all your activities. You are lucky to be getting rain. We MIGHT get a bit soon but need a real soaker.

Robin: Maybe you can get one of those baby carriers that go in the front and take THE BEAST with you.

Everyone enjoy your day!

I looked at my ditch before lunch. No water sitting in it, but it's very muddy. There's water in the ditch behind
my neighbor's house, but not much. Rain today and Sat. Then again next weekend.

Wild Woman, I hope you get rain soon.

Haha, Robin, I wonder why it's so hard to disturb a sleeping animal. Maybe in some cases like not wanting to disturb a sleeping toddler......enjoying the peace while you can get it.

Kat, it amazes me how you hit the deck running, regardless of whether you've had sufficient sleep or not. I hope the ditch doesn't get clogged up behind your house if you get more rain.

Poirot, it's disappointing but not surprising that you didn't get enough sleep. Be safe when you go out.

Adorable picture, Wilde Woman! I guess the rain here has reached a point where I would send some of it to you if I could. I'd never heard of or thought about drought and brush fires in places like New Jersey and New York. It's horrifying to imagine wildfires in such heavily populated areas. Fires are horrifying anywhere and right now southern California is living the reality of it. It seems some of this rain that's hitting several of us should reach you at some point. I hope so.

I did go back to sleep this morning from around 7 to 9. When I got up I saw my rain gauge was at a clean three inches. That makes a total 8 inches in less than a week! For the first time in some years, the tank I can see from my house (at the bottom of the hill) is "running around," which is what we say when the tank gets completely full and the water gets above ground level and runs out and around the end of the tank dam. It's always a thrill to see because it doesn't happen that often.
