Good Mid-day to all.... I slept in as I got the flu shot yesterday and it tends to make my body react a bit.... finally got to sleep without the reaction and am better and safe from the flu that is included in the vaccine.....It's a nice sunny day now.... supposed to get all nasty as the day progresses.... with rain this Saturday... I'm working High School Soccer playoffs on Saturday, I know the area I'll be under a canvas tent that is good at providing shade but has no sides so I'll be drenched if it's windy (it's Kansas it's always windy). Well, I will deal with that on Saturday.

I'm going to continue some projects that have dropped off to the side and get some others started. I need to change the timer on one of my lamps it somehow got missed during the time change and it comes on at 4 am, why??? It's broken and doesn't keep time well for one thing.

I hope everyone has a good day.....

Hello Everyone.
Sorry to be away so long, work has been (and still is) crazy. Gena and I travelled to New Orleans this summer for the ELCA National Youth Gathering with about 16,000 other high schoolers and chaperones. It was a crazy and amazing experience. Miss you all, hopefully I'll be able to pop in more this winter.

A cloudy morning with off and on sun this afternoon. Rain coming Fri evening and Sat.
I put the plant outside since there's some sun. I hope it helps it.

Another busy day at the little library. I started my vacuuming since trash day Monday.

manda, glad to see you pop in. Did you say Gena and high school? Where does the
time go?

robin, I'm glad you got plenty of rest. Good luck on Sat.

I hope everyone has a nice afternoon and evening.

So far, it looks as if hurricane wii make a u turn and hit thr Yucatan. Feel back for them, grateful it will miss me.

Figured out why I am so tired. With my "call to come ins," I have not had a day off in a week. Working with those kids is not always easy. They will have a tough time getting me tomorrow. ActionS Brazoria Center is going to garage sales. We take the van, so my car will be at the center.

I may take Boomer out as soon as I get home, then do his meds and my meds and go to sleep. I skipped ActionS this morning and slept in. At 11 I got up walked Boomer and went to The Burnt Biscuit for lunch.

There is a benefit fundraiser I wanted to go to tonight, but I am tired.

rf, take care of yourself and enjoy your outing tomorrow.

That calf looks adorable with the pink earmuffs! Looks like it's in a cozy barn so maybe the muffs will stay put. My cows would rub their heads on a thorny bush and have it torn off in no time.
The cow looking in the window makes me wonder where and what kind of fence it broke through. The background looks like city apartments! No matter, somebody just please let this girl come inside. She really wants to be your friend. :rotfl:

Sexton, I hope you get some good rest and enjoy your outing tomorrow. You are due some relaxation time!

Kat, I hope your plant gets enough sun to help. Doesn't sound like the sun will show that much.

Manda, it's good to see you pop in. Your picture is very pretty.

Robin, it hardly seems any time since you had the last flu shot. Glad you're okay now. Hope you can fix the lamp. Coming on at 4:00 a.m. is not acceptable.

It rained hard this morning, but only briefly. Very little in gauge but there was a lot standing. I think the ground has quenched its thirst and has no room for more to enter. More is good for the tanks but not the roads. They're saying we could get several more inches tomorrow. We'll see.
I've been awfully lazy today. You'll be happy to know I have nothing else to tell at this point.

OC, I think the plant got about two hours of sun today. It's going to be sunny Sun, Mon and Tues
and close to 70. It will be outside those days.

Hey, am still around........busy day today. Loved the cow pics, made me smile. Oddly enough a friend today commented that I had never even seen a cow til I moved up here.....and I pointed out that yes, I did, I was a kid, but while on summer vacation, in Milwaukee (mom's home town, lots of relatives) visited a distant relative on a farm. I really loved it, so enjoyed that entire day.

Well, my car had to go into the shop today, get the front "trim valance" replaced........don't know if I mentioned, but, a couple weeks ago, went to carwash, was waiting in line, car so dusty, dirty. My foot slipped off the brake, the car nudged forward, into car in front. Driver gets out, takes a look, no damage whatsoever, comes over to me says, let's forget it, don't call it in, cops and all, I have no damage. Don't need the hassle. Hey fine with me. Can't get out of the car wash line......so went thru. Well, there WAS damage to my car. He had a hitch, which hit the area under the license plate, and the "trim valance" under it. looked very minor. Took it in to my dealer, who says it will cost around $1000. !!!!! That is not very minor. However, I had just changed ins. companies, and knew this would significantly raise my rate.....so opted to pay myself. Well, the cost was a few hundred less, thank goodness.

My friend who picked me up at the dealer, wanted to go to lunch, GREAT......figured I would pay for us both, then on our way there, she gets call from her sister-in-law who ends up joining us. Fine. We had a lovely lunch, I had leftovers from mine which will be tomorrow's dinner, lol. (I now still owe my friend). Called the car place when home, since I know they will bring my car to me if I want..........they said yes, and did. Had the check all make out.
But it was now the time, where to go do my grocery shopping, it would be dark driving home. I do not like driving in dark, so that gets put off to tomorrow.
I know this all sounds silly and so very minor, but it took my whole day.......I am tired. I hate imposing on my friends, tho they don't seem to mind.....just me. My car looks great, but wish it would have cost even more of the less. lol.

Poirot, I could almost "feel" every bit of what you were telling. It reminded me so much of how a lot of things go with me. I've had a few "minor" things go wrong with my vehicles--cracked windshields, dents, etc., and each time I decided to go ahead and pay for it rather than have it show up on my insurance. I also completely understand how a day like yours can be so exhausting. My trips to town take up most of a day and it wears me out anymore, especially if it involves vehicle repairs! Sometimes I sleep better after a day like that though, so I hope you will tonight.

I saw a show where they explained that a simple bumper bump now cost a lot of money to fix. This is due to all of the electronics attached to the bumper. I remember when I used to just pound out the bumper bumps.... oh well......

Poirot I hope you do get to the store Friday....
