Good morning. Anybody shopping today? You couldn't pay me enough to get out in the mobs. It's a quiet morning here--relatively speaking. The two younger boys are putting together a puzzle of the 50 states, which they should know well, since they've just finished spending at least one night in many of them, in an attempt to cover all 50. I think they've made all of them except for Kansas. Somehow it has never fit into their travel plans. Maybe next time....

It got down to freezing last night but is sunny and will be in the 50s* later today. Best of all, that biting wind has settled down for a little while. I think daughter and her husband and maybe their grown son will be here today. No recent confirmation yet. They've been battling a respiratory bug of some kind. The family that's here now has too. I'm hoping they're all beyond the contagious phase. Time will tell.

Morning, OC an dothers yet to join. How nice to have your grandsons with you. A puzzle over the holidays for everyone to do was always out in my house growing up and still do that today. Hope the rest of your family arrives healthy.

Well, we are freezing here as well. There is frost sticking to all of the trees, metal fences making it truly look cold. Add fog to the mix and I'll be staying in til Watson gets his walks. Our daytime high today is to be -14*C (6.8*F) BUT next week we have a chinook coming through and temperatures will be in the low teens celcius. It's going to be the big thaw. LOL!!! Traffic in the city is at a stand still, accidents everywhere, cars in the ditch. People forget how to drive in winter or haven't switched over to their winter tires in some cases.

I hope my American friends have a wonderful thanksgiving weekend. with family and friends. I saw a comedian the other day which really applies to any holiday but he said, "Well, my friends, tis that time of year again, when we all make the trek back home, fighting traffic, overcrowded airports to make it home at all costs only to be reminded why you left int he first place then vow to never to this again. But the next year rolls around and we all do it over again, like we're in some kind of time loop". :):):)

OC, I was out the door at 5:30 today..... The rush had left store one..... but I still had luck finding what I wanted. Store two was 3 hours past opening and the toy aisles had been decimated..... sadness..... I have a couple more stores to go to today.... one a book store has regular hours but if you wear plaid today you get 30% off one item..... it's an independent book store so I'll make sure to stop there.....

Dinner last night was good we had fun, granddaughter brought her dog along and Vinnie exhausted himself trying to be the only dog in the room.... spoiled brat that he is.....

had a farm.JPG

Happy Friday and don't anger cows.... apparently they can control fire.....

I had to come to lake jackson and pay bills....they charge fees for not in person payments,

Eating at Asiels as belated birthday present to myself

I need some stuff but thinking Lowe's vs the insane aslymn aka black friday walmart

My server was a friend from high school. Told her I was celebrating my birthday today since I had to work yesterday. Evidently the ladies in the booth in front of mine heard that. After they left, my server came to me and said they paid for my meal and said to wish me a Happy Birthday....how sweet was that

Good afternoon everyone. Feeling about the same, but had to go out in the freezing temps twice today...to put payments in the mail and collect the newspaper then back out to collect more incoming bills. Nothing else accomplished.

My cousin came over yesterday for Thanksgiving dinner. Only stayed a little less than 2 hours since neither one of us was feeling well.

Belated Happy Birthday, rf.

The sun out this afternoon and in the 40s.

I went out a little later when I walked this morning. I bought a coat a week ago that has fuzz around the hood.
It's great. I wore my ski mask and the coat when I walked this morning since it 27 or so outside. I went around
twice, fast. My friend won't go out when it's cold.

I went to church this morning to get the holiday envelops out in the pews. No one there, but me. I stopped at flea
shop on my way home. Nothing there. I was disappointed Salvation Army closed today.

Even when I did Christmas shopping I never went out on Black Friday. Studies this afternoon since I took Thurs off.

OC, I'm glad you had a nice dinner with your family yesterday.

Muzzaman, it's interesting where you live people can't drive in winter weather. It's the same problem in the US.

rs, I hope you feel better soon.

robin, good luck with getting your shopping done.

Wishing everyone a nice afternoon and weekend.

EYI, Blue Bloods tonight is doing a special since it's ending in a couple of weeks.

Another video of the rebuilt Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris

Good afternoon all,

I hope all of you in the freezing weather and snow storms are staying safe and warm!!!!!

I hosted Thanksgiving dinner last night. What a great event! There was a great-grandmother, a couple of grandparents, a young couple with a 5- year-old daughter, a teen, and a few single young adults. A wonderful multi-generational mix. I loved it. And I confirmed that 14 is definitely maximum capacity for a dinner party at my house!!!!!!!

Took advantage of Black Friday at a few local stores, was worth it. Very windy and chilly, now it is 40 degrees and dropping.

OC: Glad the wind calmed down, I think you sent it to us!

Muzza: Thank you for your good wishes to all and hope your temps rise soon.

Robin: Those imagesreally made me laugh. How udderly hysterical. As for the lone cow, I think she was just really thirsty.

rfsexton: What a lovely story! There are still good people all around us.

redsquirrel: Feel better soon.

Kat: Your warm coat sounds like a great investment. I will definitely watch the Blue Bloods special. I will miss it so much. Friday nights won't be the same. I appreciate your posting the newly renovated Notre Dame images.

Lil0: Your Thanksgiving sounds like you created a lovely memory.

Everyone have a nice evening.

Robin, those cows look more curious than alarmed, considering what's behind them.

Wilde Woman, your guess is as good as mine as to why the cow is standing in the water. But if she is there to drink, I hope she's standing in a fresh water lake. My first thought was flies or heat. The only time I see my cows standing in shallow water like that is when they have heel flies or else the weather is hot and they want to cool off.

Squirrel, wishing you wellness soon.

Waiting here for my daughter and her husband to arrive at any moment.
