It's a weirdly warm morning today.... but the weather guessers said it would be.... to enjoy it as we are diving into the freezer for the rest of the week.... I got a lot of cleaning done still some more to do as I need to get some of HB precious stuff off the table and into another room so we can have more than two eat at the table.....
The beast returned from his Spa trip looking handsome and proceeded to go insane when I took him outside, seems the pumpkins he walked by every day on the front porch had moved to the backyard.... and in the back yard they are dangerous...... ??? yes, he has issues.... really dog??

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday......I'm going to stay here and finish my hot chocolate....

It was in the 40s when I walked this morning. It's cloudy today and close to 60. Tomorrow sunny
and colder.

I made the stuffing for tomorrow. Dishwasher is going now. I'll probably have to use it again
tomorrow with all the dirty pots, etc.

robin, I hope you were able to get the table ready for tomorrow.

rs, I hope you're feeling better today.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

We were in the upper teens early, climbed now to 21 ! LOL. No sun, cloudy sky. I have to run to the store for a couple items. Hope to watch the show when I return. My son will be driving up tonite. Ice is forming on the lake, but still very thin. Water, of course, is freezing cold. No idea if it is gonna snow, it looks like it, but really is cold out there. Better get over to the store before the weather changes it's mind.

Good afternoon everyone. This is our last somewhat warmer day in the 40s before the winter storm arrives overnight.

I opened the Christmas present that I bought for myself... a tire inflator that looks like a drill / driver. (Tires will need air this weekend after the temps drop to the teens. ) Charged the battery, and tried it out. This will be so much easier than having to go to a gas station and using a credit card to pay $2.00 for 2 minutes of compressed air. I absolutely hate paying for it! This started during the pandemic.

Nice weather here
Worked 10 to 3 today
Next shift was ON TIME
Went and got my hair trimed
Eating at Chick-fil-A
Redeemed my birthday reward--12 nuggets...birthday is tomorrow...working 2 to 10

Debated about telling this tale, but, just too good not to tell about such a nice, surprising thing. that happened today. I needed just a few things & went to the supermarket, got what I needed pretty fast, and went to checkout. Only 2 open, so got in line. Some sort of problem with the person checking out, extended the wait time. Commented to the guy behind me, looks like it's gonna take longer than expectected for the short line. He grinned, nodded. My turn, my items are all checked out, I hand my Visa card, but checker claims the card came up that I would be exceding my limit. Now I rarely use my Visa card, so am thinking there is a problem I have to deal with, and have wallet in my hand to pay in cash, and the man behind me just reaches across, inserting HIS card into the slot in front of me !!! I was so surprised, turned to protest, but he already was just nodding, I am saying thank you, he gives me a hug, and says "Merry Christmas!" I am overwhelmed, at a loss. I have NEVER, in my entire life, had anything like this happen to me before. He seemed so happy to be doing this, helping a stranger, and I wanted so bad to reimburse him, this ever so kind hearted soul, but at the same time, knew I would be ruining his "feel good" moment.

Several years ago, I was buying a bottle of wine, standing in line at checkout at liquor store. Guy in front of me, had his credit card declined, offered another, also declined. I was about to pay for his bill, until I saw it was 5 or 6 bottles of different liquor. He had to leave it all, I know he was embarassed. and disappointed. But at the time, I felt he had an alcoholic dependencey & I did not want to help it along. But today, this was just a few groceries for me, and a stranger stepped up to help a person he thought needed it.

There are kind and caring people out there, who, for whatever reason, suddenly step up to help out. I am still trying to decide if I did the right thing.......accepting the unexpected help, or should I have refused?

Poirot, thanks for sharing the story. I hope you called your credit card company to
see what's going on. Enjoy your visit with your son tomorrow.

People are so kind
Twice at my favorite restaurant my meals were paid for
First time I complimented a familybon their well behaved children we started chatting a little
As the dad went up to pay their bill he picked up my order ticket and paid it too.

Another time I chatted briefly with another customer as we waited for our meals. We both turned our attention to our food
He finished before after he left the owner walked to my table and told me the young man had paid for my meal

Poirot, you did the right thing. I learned a long time ago that it's important to learn to be a gracious receiver. Giving freely is a blessing to both giver and receiver, but so is receiving the gift. I also think you used good judgment about the man with the numerous bottles of wine.

Sexton, in case I don't get a chance to sign in tomorrow, here's wishing you unexpected blessings on your birthday!

Squirrel, I know you'll enjoy the tire inflator. I'd be in big trouble without my air compressor. I was so shocked the first time I heard of paying for air.

Robin, that looks like a fun party for cows! My cows didn't get invited here yet and probably a good thing. This afternoon my daughter-in-law put a long string of colored lights on the ground surrounding their big camper--right at my back door. I was wondering to my son this evening what might have happened to those lights if my cows had been in the yard.

Cold front hit late this afternoon, but no precipitation with it. Hard north wind. The two young boys were out playing in it in shorts and no shoes, no jackets. They are in my house for the night, still going strong, playing hide and seek right now. Everybody else has gone to bed. I'm about to go myself. Their older sister came in tonight and took the queen bed they'd been sleeping on so they'll have to figure out a new arrangement. Oops, their mom heard them giggling and playing from clear out in the camper so dad just came in and got them settled.
