Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends

First heat of the season coming up, all radiator knobs open! 50 degrees now, will get up to 62. Same all week, with highs in the 60s and lows in upper 40s-50s.

For those who are off today for either Canadian Thanksgiving or Columbus Day/Indigenous People's Day, enjoy!

For those of us (including me) who are working, may the day be productive and stress free.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our members in Canada

Chilly morning meant to get electric blanket set up last night will be done today I hope have work out plugs.....alarm clock, phones, tablet, lamp.... bedside lamp is vital for middle of night bathroom breaks I'll also need a place to plug in heated doggy bed for Boomer. It will be on bed at night and in living room during the day. He has a heart murmur so I don't want him to get chilled. He is cuddled next me with my covers keeping him warm.

Good morning and a Happy Canuck Thanksgiving. It is going to be another amazing day for this time of year. Today is to be around 24*C (75*F), full sun and I am on holidays this week. WOOT WOOOOOT!! This is our second long weekend in a row too as last weekend was Truth and Reconcilliation Day to reflect upon the all of our First Nation's children that were taken by force from their homes and placed in residential schools where many suffered and died. In the recent years it is only now coming to light and being discovered the graves of these children whose families never new what became of them. 2 years ago the pope came to Canada to start the process of meeting and taking responsibility what our First Nations suffered as a result of these schools and the the horrible policies that came out during this time against our First Nations. Is Aboriginal Day similar?

It was a pretty quiet weekend for the most part. We did some yard work, continue to really give our house a good cleaning and went to my parents yesterday for the day and had Thanksgiving dinner. TodayI'll continue to work in the yard, visit an aunt who is in the hospital and maybe bake some bread.

Have good day everyone.

Good morning all, and Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends. My aunt Doris used to work in one of those boarding schools. I have a rag doll made by the children she taught. I've often wondered if I might find a museum that would be interested in it.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Friends. My sister is there spending the weekend with her Grandson who just turned 3.... his birthday in early October was arranged around the holiday.
Busy day here, leaving soon to take my car to the shop where many thousands of dollars later I will get it back. Maybe it won't be many thousands of dollars.... but it's all needed 60k work so it's been sort of planned for in my budgeting..... then on to get HB his driver's license and then tomorrow get tags for his car..... good times..... (side note I did all of this in June)

OC I hope you are feeling better
Poirot I hope you are feeling better....
Muzz don't over do it on your break from work...... but have a great time getting close to the overdue it line.....

Happy Monday

Robin - Am I understanding you correctly in that your vehicle is costing $60,000 work???? Or is that a term used for taxation purposes in the U.S. like the 401K(?)
Lil0 - That is very interesting, Lil0. I wonder if the First Nations where your aunt was at would be able to provide you with somewhere it can be donated to.
RF - Lucky Boomer to have a heated bed and you to cuddle with.
Kat - How's your garden this year? I recently took a look to see if you'd posted anything.
Wilde - Hope youday is productive too.

Morning all.......Well, I had quite the day yesterday, almost thought I'd have to go to E.R. The tummy problems eventually led to hemmorhoids acting up, pretty bad. Cannot tell you how much bleeding went on.......Stopped for a few hours, then began again even worse. Been quite some time since something like that happened. I am still nervous about it. Hard time falling asleep, then it was in spurts, as wake up, bathroom, back to bed etc. Woke at 3, then 5:30 a.m. figured 4 1/2 hrs was all I would get, but....somehow, God was good, as next thing it was 8:30. The room was full of light, heck the sun was shining brightly. Am still nervous but so far, all is o.k. I take a blood thinner, am gonna skip today. Don't know what set everything in motion yesterday....but am gonna be very careful about today for sure.
Robin. $60. 000 seems pretty high for repairs......I'd be thinking of getting a new car for that.....but, you are undoubtably pretty attached to it...
Happy thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends, members & visitors here. Enjoy the day.
Was and still is a brrrr day, 32 early a.m., 37 right now.......did not hit 50 yesterday, nor supposedly today, as 49 is the forecast. There is a slight breeze, no idea if it will pick up. Same forecast for rest of week. People across the way have different colored sheets covering their vegetable garden. Must be huge one, as I see 6 different color sheets covering, looks like tents. LOL

Oh Jeez, Poirot, that does not sound good at all and quite scary. I'm so sorry for what you're gong through with this. Yes, please rest but hope you have someone to check in on you periodically.

Seems the weather has made the east/west switcharoo. Last week the east was getting record temperatures and seems the west is getting warmer weather now.

I wonder if the First Nations where your aunt was at would be able to provide you with somewhere it can be donated
I believe she was in Dawson Creek, and I see references to that school on Google. I'll see if I can find out more.

Oh Geez, Poirot! I was going to ask about the blood thinner when I started reading your post. Wow. Are you sure you don't need to get some medical help? That sounds like a lot of blood loss. Please take good care of you!

It's sunny today and will be in the 70s this afternoon.

Today Newcomer's meeting, but I decided to skip today. Two women are coming this afternoon and look
at the quilts. I knew I wouldn't have time to get home, take care of dog and eat before they came. Tonight
is circle meeting.

Poirot, I hope you'll call your doctor today and talk to him about your problem.

Wilde Woman, I'm glad you're getting heat. Don't work too hard.

rf, good luck with the plug issue. I have a surge protecter by my bed with several slots for all the plugs.

robin, I think you made a mistake with the price of your car repair.

Lil0, good luck finding a place for the the doll.

Muzzaman, I didn't take pictures this year. I got behind with my brother's passing. My daises started blooming
last week. I don't know why they bloom so late. I'm taking time getting the beds ready for fall/winter.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

No luck with the audio on my tv this morning. When I tried watching it earlier this morning, the audio was garbled and echoing. So I turned it off. Just tried again now and there is no sound at all. I suspect it has something to do with that test they ran a couple of days ago combined with the earthquake we had last night and the fact that there is a solar eclipse coming. Vaccine probably had a roll to play too, somehow.

Lil0, I wondered if you close to the earthquake. Sorry to hear the sound on the TV not working. Is it a smart TV or from
a streaming device? You might unplug it from wall and have it reset itself.

understanding you correctly in that your vehicle is costing $60,000 work????
sorry... No, I've just reached 60k miles. The work is estimated at $1200 depending on what they find with the brakes. I may need new brakes. which will move the estimate up considerably.

HB didn't get the Driver's License. billions of years ago he received a birth certificate, it was the size of a credit card and was official. It came from Kansas, but they no longer accept and we found that out today. So back home and since it's Indigenous People's Day all county and city offices are closed. So onto online to order a certificate and we will try again in two + weeks for him. sigh....
And we almost ran out of gas too.... lots of fun....
