Leif Erikson Day is commemorated every year on October 9th to honor Norwegian explorer Leif Erikson, who is credited with bringing the first Nordic European people into Continental America around the year 1000.

This is not a day I normally celebrate but other's here might..... I have recovered from my attack of ick yesterday..... will take it somewhat slowly today but am headed in the correct direction.

We will be blessed with another warm day... true fall temps may appear in the area around Tuesday of next week. Clear skies with no chance of rain is disturbing as we need rain... I just wonder if this means we get a colder longer winter?? I have a neighbor getting a new roof.... the constant banging of the hammers the dead give away.... A yard worker just appeared and weed-whacked the bejabbers out of the side of my house.... or did he intentionally go after my pumpkins? (Princess problems....)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Was Leif Erikson the one called, "Leif the Lucky?" That made me fascinated with him when we studied it in grade school, but obviously not enough for me to remember any details after all these years.

Robin, city living--where you get to share all of your neighbors' home repair and maintenance activities. The last time I lived in a city (3 years back in the mid 1990s) the seemingly unceasing mowing almost drove me out of my mind. I hoped then and now to never have to be subjected to that kind of widespread noise again. I hope you're completely recovered from your allergy event soon, and back to your normal active self.

We're supposed to get some cooler temperatures next week too. My school's homecoming is that weekend. I'm digging through things trying to figure out what warmer clothes I can wear.

Another sunny day here in the 80s. I get cooler weather too next week for a couple of days. I'm glad it
won't last long I have a lot of work to do outside since I've been sick.

I wore my winter coat when I walked this morning. A house 5 doors away is getting a new roof. I heard
the noise when I watered this morning. I stayed home from Bible study because of my cold. Hopefully,
I'll be better tomorrow to go to the little library. I feel worse when I wake up. I got my email notification
that my Covid tests come tomorrow.

robin, I'm glad you're feeling better. Thanks for the scarecrow picture.

OC, I hope you find something to wear to your homecoming.

Prayers continue for people in Florida.

67 and overcast right now. How incredibly grateful I feel.

Thinking about all the folks affected by the hurricane and hoping they will get through it.

Robin: Thanks for posting about Leif Erckson Day. That weed whacking sounds so disruptive, but at least your pumpkins are scarecrow are still standing.

OC: Hope you find something to wear to your homecoming.

Kat: Happy that you are out and about again. Still take it easy!

Everyone enjoy the rest of the day.

which direction are we suppose to look to see the lights? Will they just be all over the sky?

Just look up. You should see dancing light that fades in and out with different colours. Sometimes they last a while and sometimes like the other night, they are there for a short time. I hope many of you will be able to see them.
