Happy Halloween!

No trick or treaters at my house since no kids in my neighborhood.

Congratulations to the LA Dodgers for winning the World Series! What a game last night. The Dodgers came back from being 5 runs down to beat the Yankees. Bet robinsnest was celebrating.

Skipped a voluntary meeting about the work health insurance for next year. They have to explain to some people how to do the online enrollment step by step though it is exactly the same every year . I completed that the day it was first sent out.

robinsnest - Sweet pictures of Vinnie yesterday.

I am thinking that today’s episode was a cruel Halloween joke on us all.

Almost the entire day was full of Body and Soul. As I was watching it, I kept wondering if it was being run on the wrong day. I was thinking April Fool’s Day would have been more appropriate than Halloween.

I did watch the whole episode hoping it would somehow announce cancelation of B&S.

My advice to us all, don’t eat the candy today.:sarcasm:

It was 46* this morning and breezy. Not a surprise but enough of a "trick" for me! I may not go back outside until next fall. No more 90s* in sight.

I'm wondering if anybody out there can help me remember a tv show from long ago, probably the 1980s or perhaps '90s. My husband used to watch it and I watched it some with him but I can recall very little about it except on every episode there was this very large man sitting behind a desk. I don't think he ever got up but he had this other man hired to do investigative work for him. I've been seeing a man on some of the old reruns I watch of things like Perry Mason and some westerns and a few other things. I don't know if it's the same person who played in the show I'm trying to remember but it got me thinking about that show and I've had it on my mind for days but can't remember anything else about it. It's silly, the things you think about when you are my age and spend so much time alone.

Now back to the kitchen I go......

Bet robinsnest was celebrating.
OH yes I was celebrating and trash talking with my ex and oldest who were for the other guys!! it was an amazing night.....
Happy Halloween to all.... I'm hoping we get some trick or treaters here as I have lots of candy.....

OC could your show be Jake and the Fatman? staring Joe Penny as Jake and William Conrad as the Fatman?

When I first moved to Wisconsin, we lived very rural for years, and I was rather disappointed that NO trick or treaters ever came, (had quite a bit of candy the lst year).....Our closest neighbor (mile down the road)......their son got married - to the daughter or a resort guest of ours, lol (he was in 7th or 8 the grade, with our oldes son when we first came) eventually they had a baby, who was around 2 or 3 when ......yep, came trick or treating.....By then we no longer had candy treats to give out......but managed a cookie. Next morning, hubby goes out, buys a bunch of candy, takes it over to them.......he just felt so bad not having Halloween treats for the kid (and they were the only ones who had come that night). And now, here I live in town for past 6 or 7 years.....and still.......nope, none. To be fair, town has a special sort of party for all the kids, because of being so rural, kids don't get to go, parents don't like driving so many miles in 10 different directions.......so...usually the town businesses pitch in, along with some private citizens.......and the kids trick or treat the main st. and then head to partyville. LOL
By the way, when our neighbor arrived carrying her little son, in a costume, we were having a blizzard, her hubby drove her, only to friends within 5 miles. Anyway, now I believe, if you have candy, you are supposed to have your outside lights on......
And today, Halloween, it is just 40°, and pouring rain, which may turn to snow. How fun! NOT!

It's cloudy today. High only in the 60s. Rain and storms last night. There was a inch and
a half of rain at my house.

A busy time at the little library. Kids dressed for Halloween for story time today. I'll be
putting out candy at 5 this evening and turn off light at 7. That's plenty of time.

Muzzaman, enjoy sitting outside for the kids.

OC, there was another show where the actor sat called "Nero Wolfe" One show had William Conrad.

I hope everyone has a nice afternoon and evening.

Oh, man.......just got back from Dr. appt.........(ear), and tho it was raining, when I get out of there, it is literally pouring buckets. Plus 37°. Temp dropping like this........we either get ice storm, or snow. It definitely is cold. Here is the nicest thing. Had an appt around noon, drove to where I thought the place was located, and drove round all over the area, got lost, returned home. looked up the address, checked it on google, map came up.....heck, just a very short distance away. I had already called and apologized for not being there, told how I got lost. Got rescheduled for next week. So after sitting a while, I then decided to make a trial run so it would not happen again. Bingo, turns out am just about a 7 minute Drive. Totally embarassed. So I parked, turned the car off, purse left in car....ran inside , telling the gal I just wanted to make sure I had the way right. I go to leave, she says wait,,,,,,,,as long as you are here......has me follow her to Dr. office, has my file, tells him I am there, would he want to see me. Sure, since a patient cancelled, and I am protesting, purse in car. Heck the lights had not gone off yet. So ran out for purse, I guess opening the door caused lights to either stay on, or go off for just a second, but the doc even was concerned they had not gone off. He runs out, IN THE RAIN, with my keys, gets in the car, got the lights off. (said the door wasn't shut tight enuf........comes back in and off to the office we go. Talk about above and beyond.
While in with him, he mentions he lives 2 hours away, was called in to sub, regular doc decided he was taking 2 weeks off, so he was a last minute fill in. Not only that, he was hoping to get out by 3 or 3:30, as he had to be in another town about 1 1/2 hrs away, meeting a friend. Poor guy, He had 2 more patients to see after me, so just hope he will be o.k. and the rain doesn't turn worse. But he truly was the nicest man, jokes, chatter, lots of laughing, which really puts one at ease quickly. Just hope he makes his trip o.k.

oh, my gosh.............it almost 4 p.m., temp down to 35.........and it is SNOWING!!!! yep, mother nature had the big trick up her sleeve, for sure.
