Good morning everyone. Just finished the make up screenings at my kindergarten through 6th grade school. The sun is now shining after about an hour of torrential rain. The weather people never saw this one coming.

Feeling much better today, but still not up to par.
Hope those of you with medical issues are having a better day, too.

Good Tuesday morning all...... The beast is at day care and having fun..... his hair cut yesterday took all the fly away hairs away..... the JV football game had a typical ending..... but we did finally get a first down..... yeah us...... The LA Dodgers now have a commanding lead over the NY Yankees in baseball..... live texting with my ex and son during the game is more fun when I'm on the winning team..... tee hee.....
it was a mere 90 degrees yesterday.... blowing away all previous high records for the day..... today is another extremely windy day..... lots of clouds no rain expected just clouds and wind.....

Happy Tuesday......

Sunny and 61. We might break a temperature record this week, possibly 80 on Halloween. But we desperately need rain.

redsquirrel: Glad you are on the mend.

Robin: I bet The Beast looks adorable with his new "do." Congrats on your team's success!

Let's enjoy the last Tuesday of the month.

It's cloudy this afternoon with wind and close to 80. I get my weather on the weather channel web site. This
morning, the daily forecast shows rain coming Wed night. The 10 day forecast doesn't show the rain unless
you hit the expand button.

After I posted the summary, I went outside and raked 4 cans of leaves. I raked another 4 cans after lunch. I'll
do my best to get it done before the rain tomorrow.

Hopefully, the mailman comes today. No one came yesterday. I went out 9 last night to bring the mail I had
in box back inside.

rs, I hope tomorrow I hope you're feeling better.

robin, I'm glad the team got a first down.

Wilde Woman, I hope you get rain soon.

rf, I hope you get cooler weather soon.

Wishing everyone a nice rest of the day.

Hello ,everyone,

RS, feel better soon and at least it's not snow??
Robin, nothing better than smacking talking, in fun, to your friends and family on opposing sports teams.....Right @redsquirrel ??? I never knew Penguin would taste so good. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge!!
Wildewoman, What I nice Halloween night for kiddos, it's only supposed to be 6*C (42.8*F) in Calgary BUT NO SNOW!! Woo hoo!!
RF, please, send your warmer weather my way
Kat, I don't know about you, but I love raking leaves when it's nice outside.

We had a pretty quiet weekend but did have our buddy, Jerry and his brother who is visiting from Victoria, over for dinner on Saturday and Jerry shared with us the best possible news. So 3 weeks ago or so he was told he had less than a year to live and opted to not continue with 4th round of chemo. His cancer is described as like Sonic the Hedgehog due to it's ability to spread at a fast rate which in 3 weeks his cancer has progressed to his ribs and sternum BUT there is a non patented drug that that will target the receptors, my understanding and neutralize the spread at a cost of $11,000 CAD per month for 12 months. Who the heck has that kind of money just lying around???? He was told he likely would not be approved for this to be subsidized by our health care or his employer insurance providers but on the advice of his oncologist she said to apply regardless even for peace of mind that he tried everything.

Last week Wednesday he received a call from his oncologist who advised that our health care will be paying $6600/per month and his insurance through his employer will cover the remaining $4400 for the duration of his treatment of 12 months. WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!! He has some hope for his chance of survival, being a dad to his 20, 22 and 4 year old and none of this would have been approved for coverage had there not been a glimmer of hope so he started his first treatment yesterday. Wow, they got him in fast. Reality is it may not work and we've had those conversations but maaaaan.......fingers and toes crossed. Just had to share this.

Have a great day everyone!!

Kat, I hope you get all your raking done in time for the rain. We have a chance for later in the week, mostly on the weekend. My niece is frantically scrambling to get some of her things done before the rain. I just hope it does rain.

Robin, those little calves are such cuties! I bet the beast is the talk of the town, strutting around with his new haircut, wowing all the other doggies at daycare.

Wilde Woman, seems like a lot of us have been setting temperature records this fall, and some of us, low rainfalls. Hope you get as much as you need soon too.

Squirrel, an hour of torrential rain sounds like a lot. I'm glad to hear you're feeling some better. Keep going in that direction!

Sexton, I tend to think of your area being hotter than mine but it's probably just that you usually have more humidity. Strangely enough, Wichita Falls, from where I get "local" tv news, is sometimes the hottest reporting area in the state of Texas during the summer. Over the years it hasn't been uncommon for my home thermometers to show higher temperatures than theirs.

It's supposed to be around 90* today and tomorrow but by Thursday we're to cool down considerably. The big news right now is the wind, which is gusting to 40 mph today. I kept hearing it all night long, and it continues today.

Muzz, that story about your friend Jerry just took my breath away! Please keep us updated.

One of my church/Sunday school friends got run over by a bull on Saturday. He came to church yesterday with a bruised, swollen forehead and a bump on the back of his head. His wife and grandkids were sitting in the truck and watched in horror. She said he went up in the air and turned a flip. Of course, he wouldn't go get his head checked out so I'm just hoping and praying nothing more will come of it. This man is around 70 years old and is still going strong, as is the case for many throughout their 70s in a ranching/farming community. He's a fun guy with a great sense of humor. In telling us all about the incident he said he felt like one of those people you see on tv or online who goes out and approaches a buffalo or some other wild animal. He laughed and said, "I'm one of them!" This was one of his bulls, so he's not ignorant of bovine behavior but somehow this one got after him and he said he was running toward a shed in hopes of getting behind it, when the bull caught up with him. It was a mercy he wasn't even more seriously injured or worse.

Mailman came today. My regular guy has Monday off. He says they're short handed so if you know
someone who needs a job I can tell where they can apply.

Muzzaman, thanks for the update for your friend. Leave raking is ok when it's not so hot. I'm glad
the wind picked up after I came inside.

OC, I'm glad your friend is ok after being ran over by the bull.

Oh, Muzza, that story about your friend........I pray that this new med will work. YOU are a good friend, and he knows it!

And this is hard to believe, but high today ...71°, tho mostly cloudy all day. tomorrow (they say evening/night) come the rain..........AND perhaps that white stuff.......probably a dusting, who knows? Obviously the temps are gonna drop. A very weak sun showed up around 3 p.m., probably on it's way to show up elsewhere.
Tomorrow is the echocardiogram........I thought it would be just a few minutes, but in reading up about it..........lot longer.

Kat, I've been seeing lots of ads for jobs with the USPS. I figured they needed extra help for the upcoming holidays but maybe they are short handed everywhere. Our rural delivery person has been out a good bit lately, after her husband was in an accident. Delivery has been irregular in her absence.

Poirot, snow....ugh! Hope your electrocardiogram turns out good. At least they aren't invasive. Not so bad if you don't mind listening to the sound of your heart beating. It gives me the creeps.

Sexton, we had a milk cow when I was very young. Guess I didn't find milking it too much fun because I only did it one time. I also picked cotton one time. We didn't grow it but neighbors did and my mother would pick in the late fall to make extra money for Christmas. She let me go with her one time and I was given a child-size sack to fill. (These are long, heavy bags that drag along the ground behind you, with a strap that holds it across your shoulder). The most fun about that day was that there were two big teenage boys picking alongside us and they kept putting cotton in my sack secretly to make it seem I had picked a lot more cotton than I actually did. It was a fun and kind thing for them to do.
