I currently have pecans, walnuts, cashews and two types of shelled pistachios: lightly salted and cinnamon. Yes, cinnamon! They are awesome. A way to have a little something sweet but also healthy. Let's all enjoy a nut today, for those who are not allergic, of course! Oh, and it will be going up to 80 here. Took out the fans again.

National Nut Day!! who knew??? I may have to swing by the Nifty Nut House here in Wichita to get some slivered almonds to use in my Christmas Cookies and then pick up a pound or two of fancy mixed nuts just because...... our Phoenix Bonsai Sensi used to have cashews in the paper like shell they were delicious.... sort of like peanuts before the red paper like covering is removed..... and different.....
After standing for two hours in line yesterday my rebuilt ankle said ah gurl what were you thinking? I have a balloon ankle currently. Stopped me from going to the JV football game..... the correct team won, HB enjoyed.... Today will be a day of fun dusting and vacuuming as beastie boy is at day care....

have a great day....

Another sunny day. It's going to be in the 80s today and tomorrow.

I washed rags and watered some flowers this morning. This evening, I'm going to a high school
reunion meeting. The big year is next year.

robin, I hope your ankle feels better tomorrow.

Wilde Woman, how are your pigeons?

I hope everyone has a fun rest of the day.

Well, Kat, after seeing that video about domesticated pigeons, getting ideas! No, not really! If one has a squab (name for baby pigeon) from birth, it is domesticated from the start and will be clean. And the owner will feed it good food, so it will be different than what outdoor pigeons "leave behind," though one still will have to clean up after it. Cage training, perhaps? Otherwise, the bird will leave "stuff" all over!

I know someone in another building in my complex who rescued a squab left behind on her terrace and raised it until it was old enough to leave and fly away. I understand she grew attached to it but knew it needed to be free.

I just read this, ignore the reference numbers, and I can attest to this, having seen them year round:

Hello. It's around 90* today, will be for the whole week. My niece came with her small trailer this morning and carried off my trash. Yesterday she picked up two prescriptions for me. One was a different kind of pain pill, finally something that helps with the shoulder/arm pain. The pain is not gone but it makes it tolerable so long as I don't use the arm too much. I hope it keeps working. I haven't heard from the doctor's office with an appointment for an MRI. I guess I'm going to have to nag them and I don't like to do that.

Good evening everyone. A long day at work with school then meetings with the top administration about my retirement. The VP of Human Resources didn't even bring my job description to the first meeting. Luckily I showed up with it. She didn't have a clue what my job entailed.

No nuts in any way, shape, or form at my house except for the acorns that fall from the oak trees.

Time for bed. Will have to catch up tomorrow after work. I have school then an outing with clients.

rs, that's terrible the administrator doesn't know what you do. I bet she's surprised how much you do.
I hope you get rested tonight.

When I worked at the school district in Sacramento, I spoke with my union rep because I thought I deserved a different classification. I "innocently" had asked the principal to write what she thought my job was, I had also asked the counselor, and a teacher. I managed to get bumped up two steps and get health insurance.

I fear for your company once you retire because you do more than they have any idea.....

Robin, I was thinking the same thing about Squirrel and how they don't even realize how much she takes care of.

Squirrel, I think you are an exception in today's work world. There are still some who are committed but many, many are not.

No word on an appt. for my MRI. I called again today and left a message asking about it. Still no response. I can understand that it might take some time to get in for one, but I don't know why the appointment clerk would take days to make an appointment and call to tell me when it is. I'll call again tomorrow and try to get through to somebody. My niece has already rearranged her whole week to try to be available for me. When she dislocated her elbow several months ago nobody ever got her set up for the MRI and she kept getting the run around when she called. She finally blew the whole thing off and went on about her business.

this did my heart good.......the...Christmas City of the North parade will be in a month........which means after Thanksgiving........so T Day will be able to have it's own celebration here.

Wilde Woman, your note about pigeons migrating was interesting to me. I had no idea.

Poirot, good to hear about the parade being after Thanksgiving. I can barely cope with one holiday at at time. I don't need two to think about at the same time!

I agree, ....which is why I got very annoyed to see a Christmas movie or movies being shown even before Halloween!
