10/15/2024 - Donuts and Brrr

Good morning.... BEAST is away at doggie day care..... I need to clean his water fountain before he returns..... vacuuming has been done and dusting.... it looks like our neighbors across the way have moved out.... wonder who will move it.... this is a very transient neighborhood.....
rs I'm sorry your weekend was a bust.... snack size humans are germ factories... they are hard to avoid .....
we have a freeze coming tonight..... it was cold last night the tomato seems to have survived... I'm going to cover and pull in close to the house as the Kansas winds are to pick up with gusts possible up to 50mph....
Hope to see the comet tonight.... I have my alarm set so we can be facing west just at sunset to see it

It was in the 30s when I walked this morning. Sunny and in the 70s. There's still a freeze warning
for tonight. Wed & Thus in the 60s. Then back in the 70s and higher.

I wanted to post summary early since handyman coming. At least, summary was done before
he came since he came early. After summary done, I watered the front bed before taking hose
off to cover spicket for the cold weather tonight.

I gave handyman several things to do, but today he's just working on the dryer. The dryer vent is
close to the ground and the new landscaping/mulch is too close. He's going to move the mulch
and put a solid bottom down. Then block area around it. Since I wanted vent cleaned, he did that
first. He got half a bag of stuff out since the vent hasn't been cleaned before. Everyone needs to
get that done if it's been awhile.

rs, I'm sorry you were sick over your holiday weekend. I hope you're feeling better now.

robin, I hope you'll get to see the comet.

Wishing everyone a good rest of the day.

It was cooler than I expected this morning. Had to switch to sweat pants for senior citizens day at the fair
Even though our scare crow followed the theme more than any entry we only took 3rd

Feel better, Squirrel.

Robin, I'm going to try to remember to look for the comet but good chance I can't see it. My house faces the west but the pasture trees have grown up in that direction, making it impossible to see things that are close to the horizon. I'd have to get in my car and drive 2/3 of the way to my mailbox to get on top of the 2nd hill, where there's an open view in that direction.

I've been having a bad pain in the muscle just below my right shoulder since Saturday night. It gets especially bad when I lie down in bed. Couldn't get in to see the doctor yesterday. His nurse said to take over-the-counter pain meds and try the anti-inflammatory creams. First, I'd have to drive 80 miles round trip to get the creams, which I wouldn't be able to tolerate because of the smell, and besides, have you ever read the possible side effects on that stuff? . Ibuprofen and Tylenol are making the pain bearable, otherwise I'd end up in the ER. I've never had anything like this before. Doesn't seem like it's in the shoulder joint or bone. No swelling or redness. Not sore or hard to move my arm. Just an unbearable pain in that muscle. No, I didn't do anything to hurt it. I don't know what the doctor could do. I'm very reluctant to start down a rabbit hole of tests, specialists, etc.

It's been windy here all afternoon and the temp been dropping. Will it be 32 or below early
tomorrow? I'll find out in the morning.

OC, do you have a heating pad? I use mine when I have odd aches and pains.

rf, I hope you had a nice time at the fair.
