Hey I don't name the days....National No Bra Day became a platform to encourage women to forgo wearing a bra for a day, symbolizing solidarity with those affected by breast cancer and helping to spread awareness about the importance of early detection and ongoing support.

The drive to the band competition was a nice pleasant one, then the competition our band did really well, sounded good as did the 4 bands that followed them. We then got back in the car and drove home. The kids were planning on leaving a couple hours after we left. Grandson rode the bus this year. Vinnie survived being alone.

I hope you are having a wonderful Fall Sunday....

Rain, windy, 43°. Rained once yesterday, but then it rained during the night, stopped for a bit, raining harder now, really nasty with wind whipping it around. The leaves have been falling off trees like rain, and now blowing everywhere, making big piles, then spreading them out. Looks like the pic just above, only raining atop it all. LOL Glad I am not going out for Sunday paper (I did church on TV this morning) ...Sunday paper is just too much for 2 thin sections...........Heck, papers have more content during the week. LOL
I have this lovely wall clock, battery operated. It had stopped, I replaced battery, but it was runnng slow, losing time. Thought perhaps the battery I used was defective or weak or something........so replaced again (just 2 days) and same thing. So......guess it is dying. Such a pretty clock, had it for long time. But cannot trust it. Right now it says 2:30..........and it is just past 11:30.......but the 2:30 is from 2:30 a.m. Was hoping I could find one like it but...so far, no luck.
Hope you all are faring better with weather......but then, this is north country, and we are headed towards winter.

Another sunny day. There are some cooler days coming.

Cold almost gone. I'll be outside when I'm able.

Poirot, sorry to hear about the clock. It might need cleaning. It's too bad there aren't
people around who can fix things like that.

robin, I'm glad the band event went well.

I hope everyone has pleasant and relaxing rest of the day.

Alas, my clock is not encased in glass, or anything..oval, wood clock.........sort of like this, but a very pale blue, regular numbers, & wine glass & bottle pic, lol. I wonder if anyone fixes clocks any more.......as I said, had this for years, so probably would cost more to fix now than it did new.........if there WAS a way to fix it.

Oh my stars! With all her slurpy saliva that cow was lucky she grabbed exactly the right spot! We had an electric fence one time and a poor coyote didn't have the cow's expertise. We found him the next day with his teeth still clamped down on the wire. He was "fried" on the spot. We raised hogs at the time and they didn't bother trying to open the gate or the wires. They just plowed right through them head first and came out unscathed. Hogs are pretty much indestructible.

Poirot, I wonder if there is any way you could replace the hands on the clock. Years ago my daughter-in-law, who does elaborate cross stitching, made me a clock that's special to me. Over the years it has quit working right a couple of times and she's made adjustments on it when she comes around. This time they've been gone for nearly a year and it quit working shortly after they left last November. I ordered a new mechanism box from Amazon with hands and fooled around with it until I lost patience. (This is why she does beautiful cross stitch pieces and I don't). I'm hoping she can do something with it when they come this Thanksgiving.

Robin, I'm glad the band competition and the drive were pleasant for you. And Vinnie survived in your absence! Here's a big hug for him. :big hug:

Wilde Woman, that's a lovely fall scene. I'll pretend it looks like that here when the leaves around me start falling. Enjoy your nice temperatures.

Another day around 100* here but should be the last for a while.

LOL, hey, the clock came with extra set of hands. taped on the back. The clock says 8:15 and it is actually 5:13 right now. I suppose I could just move the hands and reset it again, but by morning will be wayyy off again.
Gloomy day all day, rained a few more times......we do need it , still so windy, and brrrrr.45°. and tonite to go to 33°.......and Tuesday we will be climbing upward so by end of next week, it will be 60 during day. Ha. Of course down it will go again. Gotta start checking the warmer things, wool blazers, sweaters, long sleeve pullovers, etc.
Want to laugh, I seem to have shrunk a bit, the slacks seem to have gotten a bit longer, even some long sleeve jackets seem to have longer sleeves.
What is annoying to me.....we no longer have a shoe store in town, so....either buy shoes, untried on.....via internet, or someone told me WalMart sells shoes..........I do hesitate either option. Love small town living, but lots of inconveniences.

I have the same situation with no place to shop for shoes and only one clothing shop in the Walmart town. They have a few shoes but not usually anything I want. Expensive too. I won't buy shoes at Walmart. My feet are thin, not easy to fit.
Poirot, maybe you've lost weight. That will make clothes hang longer on you too.
Moving the hands doesn't work on my clock either. And if you put in new ones you'd probably still need a new box in the back for the new (or even the old) hands to attach to. Anyway, I'm hoping the new box I got will work when my d-i-l is here to help with it. I wish you could find someone to help with yours. They seem to be made pretty simple now, not complicated, but my fingers don't handle fine or small things well anymore. Fumble.
