Good morning all, pretty scary and devastating to see all those fires in California. No words.

A beautiful week here after that cold last week. Temperatures will be in the +*C today and rest of the week.

Back to work and I started my new position for 4 months less a day to backfill for a co-worker who went on maternity. After I complete my acting position, another co-worker will do a stint at this job.

Not much new here but the countdown is on again until I go skydiving again.. My buddy from Vancouver is coming out to jump with me for his birthday and I managed to round up 2 others to take the plunge. This time we booked a tandem skydive for 13,000 feet. Last summer I did 2 10,000 foot jumps so this will be a bit longer of a freefall and in the sky longer.

My parents are coming iup for the a night so Mike and I are going to take them out to dinner to celebrate their 58th anniversary that they had on Dec. 27th.

Wishing you all a safe week and so sorry to everyone affected by the fires and for those who have loved ones that have been displaced.

Just learned the manager here got married this past Dec. 27th. (believe it or not, he met her in Vegas, lol, but she happened to be from a town just about 25 miles from here) One never knows. When I first came here, his then wife passed away, and the funeral was held just across the way from me, in a big field. Some years now, so am glad he finally found someone. Tis cold and overcast again, just 8°...and expecting snow come Friday. I will try and run to store this afternoon.....Don't need anything, but will probably run out, and the snows will continue til next week!

High will be in the 40s today. They say it's supposed to be a mild winter. At least we aren't getting hit as hard as Dallas area.

Come on Spring. 71 days until Spring.

It was a short night, but not as short for my sisters.

Muzz your parents are amazing being together for so long. But then again one must wonder as they've raised a son who jumps out of perfectly good airplanes.... Have fun with your next jump.

It's 12 today we might get to a day time temp ABOVE freezing on Saturday. Which means maybe by then I can clear off the driveway and be able to get out to get prescriptions. And salt/sand to put on to prevent it from happening again next storm. I checked if Insta Cart the online shopping would deliver, they would but alas Home Depot and Lowes are both out of the salt/sand bags.

Good Wednesday to all.

Good morning all,
The fires in the LA area are just unimaginable! Amazing that they have been able to get so many people to safety. I hear now that 2 people have died, and I truly hope that there will be no more loss of life.

Yesterday I got the results of my recent ultrasound. Looks like I "probably" have cancer. [Gads! That is hard to say!]. I'm sure the next step will be a needle biopsy, since the ultrasound is not definitive. I thought I was doing OK with this yesterday, but today I find that I can't hardly think about anything else. I suspect that will be the case until I get more information.

Very mild and damp weather here. We have had very little frost so far this winter. I'm looking forward to having a veggie garden again this year.

Stay safe and warm!

It was 15 when I woke up. It's sunny and 25 now.

I've been checking the forecast. One site says white stuff around 3 tomorrow afternoon. One map
shows my area won't get anything. What do you do? I'm still going shopping tomorrow, just in case.

My day hasn't gone as planned. I was called yesterday the fob I would need to get into buildings at
church was ready. So, I walked before my Zoom meeting at 8 when it was 17 degrees. I left home after
the Zoom meeting and went to church. The fob they gave me didn't work. A wasted trip. There's
still a little birdseed outside. I'll put more out tomorrow afternoon.

Lil0, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Keep us updated.

robin, be careful what you put in your driveway. I put salt on my driveway and it made a mess of
the concrete. The reason I had it fixed.

Poirot, good luck going to the store.

Muzzaman, good luck with the new position.

rf, enjoy the nice weather.

I hope everyone will have the best afternoon possible.

HB tried shoveling off the sidewalk and driveway yesterday.... no movement it's ice... I was able to get the snow off for the most part of our concrete back yard patio and shoveled a bit more "grass" area free for the BEAST.
Loss of life will be higher in the LA area, lots of people thought they could protect their homes with garden hoses even after being told to evacuate and given the crazy speed in which the fire is moving. It is shocking the devastation.
My evacuated sister is okay she's at a friends condo with her daughter and son in law.... she's confused but okay.
My Santa Monica sister has a place for her husband, mother in law and dog to go should they have to evacuate..... it's just scary being so far away and on last night's news it was the weather person who talked most about the fire, not the news anchors...... at least I still have all my "cabin" fire sources to hit they are doing a good job getting the word out.

LiL0 prayers and please update us as you feel able to....

robin, ice is terrible. Do you have a leaf blower? The maintenance man used that to get off the sidewalks
on Monday. I have used my shovel hitting the ice. The driveway has a lot dents.

That's too bad. Maybe someone you know has one you can borrow.

So much sad news. The situation in California is so terrible. I still have a couple of cousins out there but I believe they are more in the southern part of the greater Los Angeles area, which seems not to be in the path of fire at this point (I think but I'm open to correction). I need to check with one of them.

Lil0, I had thyroid cancer over 40 years ago and I'll never forget how it felt to hear those words. I hope and pray if you do have it, it will be treatable, as mine was.

I went to town this morning, then made it back to my tiny community in time for a monthly lunch at my church--open and free for anyone in the community who wants to come. Later, my niece and I fed hay and cubes, in anticipation of tomorrow's weather event, which nobody has yet figured out for sure.

I pray help and blessing for all, whatever the need may be.
