I woke up this morning around 3:30. I was able to sleep another hour.

It's cloudy and only in the 40s today. I walked after I got home from the little library today since
tomorrow is rain in the AM. Temps are dropping all day tomorrow and it will be in the teens at
bedtime. As of now, no winter weather at my house. I hope not.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Here's a trivia question with answer. I never knew this

What is the official animal of Scotland?
Answer: Unicorn

It is too cold and windy to go far (32 but feels like 12 with wind chill) so just ran local errands and came home. We are due for snow in the next day or two, but probably nothing significant.

Kat- Glad you got out a bit. Stay warm when the temps fall. Did not know that about Scotland's official animal being the unicorn. Maybe Xander should buy Victoria a stuffed unicorn plush toy.

Everyone enjoy the first Saturday of 2025.

I never knew that either, Kat. Not walking tomorrow seems like a good decision. I don't think we'll have rain here but our temps will be in the teens with wind chills in single digits. Gonna be cold for most of the week.

Beautiful picture, Wilde Woman. Who doesn't love a unicorn? Sorry your activities were cut short today. Stay warm if you can.

I had two surprises this morning, one good and the other, well, nasty. I could tell it was cloudy out so I started opening all the curtains in my sun room. When I pulled open the ones at the back porch/steps, there was Earl, looking through the glass at me, as though he'd heard me moving about and was waiting for me. I opened the door and told him to go on over to the scaffolding and wait for me. Then I got a scoop of birdseed and started out. Sure enough, he was perched on the scaffolding, with his head sticking out over the edge in great anticipation.

I went back inside and opened the curtain at the glass door going out onto the deck and there was my nasty surprise. A raccoon had visited in the night and had left a HUGE calling card! I know lots of people think raccoons are cute and some even keep them as pets, but I can't see past their nasty and destructive habits. Maybe they would be cute in a tree far out in the woods but the only place I ever see them is in my yard!

Wind has been howling all day. Not looking forward to it blowing even harder tomorrow with temperatures more than 30 degrees colder than today.

So rf has the a/c going, while I have extra heaters going. dealing with below zero temps.........however the sun is out, the snow on the patio is all melted, despite the frigid temps........I do have extra heater going, and I did have the fireplace going as well, but shut that off a bit after noon, as it had warmed up inside....only took 4 hours. LOL Tomorrow we are to get up to 12 above. And slowly each day a bit warmer. Weird. Hope everyone is doing well, staying inside if you are in the colder areas. Never know what Mother Nature might have in store, so be aware.

We have heaters and a fire going. Our weather is nuts - was 27 yesterday am but 60 by noon. Back to 30ish this morning. Supposed to be 22 tomorrow morning with rain.

OC, I'm glad Earl came for a visit. I hope you can stay inside when the cold weather comes.

rf, I hope you won't be getting winter weather. How's Boomer doing?

Kris, try to stay warm and cozy with the weather.

Poirot, take care with the winter weather.

robin, I hope you were able to have your Christmas today.

The Wichita Christmas has broken up and all have left for home. We moved up the time due to the storm. Our driveway was icy but the time the party started, but with caution everyone was able to get in to their cars to leave. We are under a blizzard watch till 6 pm tomorrow night. AS long as we don't loose power we are good. We can make it for a couple of days with food stuffs, but unsure about the pipes, we will get the water dripping if we loose power. I want to move some outside plants in but that will need to wait till HB wakes from his nap.

Nasty couple of days coming up if you are in the plains or northeast.... be safe.....
