You know Elsa famous from the song "Let is snow, let it snow" and The cold never bothered me anyway...... well I'm bored of the snow and the cold DOES bother me... go... (Disney's movie Frozen)

As you can see from the picture I have the ONLY shoveled driveway and sidewalk.... getting to the community mailbox at the end of the street is challenging with an unplowed road and sidewalks.... now if I could get this ice to go away......
Fires are still raging the Palisades fire is now threatening the Santa Monica sister.... the La Crescenta sister looks life she might have her orders lifted today....

I hope everyone has a full-filling Saturday

Don't know why your street is not plowed, but then, neither is mine! Since the manager no longer lives here, I fear this will be going on all winter.

What is all the blue in your pic???
 
My driveway faces North.... hence the bigger snow and ice build up it's the shadowing of the sun.... it's quite a glare... sunglasses times if you go out front.... not so much out back.....
I'm done with this and I know it's just started.... I hate being trapped inside.....
 
Robin, I feel your pain. The longest I ever saw it stay in a deep-freeze condition here was back around 1980, for three weeks. A nightmare in every respect--busted water pipes under the house and elsewhere, tanks solidly frozen over, inadequate home heat, etc. In Pennsylvania we had deep snow on the ground all winter but they were prepared for it there. Here, we definitely are not! Hope you are there! Sounds good that you were able to get someone to shovel or plow for you.......How is your son doing? Hope the sisters in CA are okay. Too awful....

Found out last night that my son and his family are arriving here tomorrow, for a few days, heading west for northern CA. Why, oh why, are they so determined to spend most of their time in that place? IF they can even get there. No going the southern route and traveling up the Pacific highway. This time of year crossing the Rockies with a large camper is not a good idea......
 
It was 14 when I woke up this morning. It's now 38 and sunny. Things are melting.

I decided when I woke up I wouldn't go the library since I wasn't sure how the roads were and
it was below freezing. I got an email someone wanted a book I had and due today. Library
opened later than usual this morning so I to get it there.

The subdivision streets were icy in some spots, but the highway clear. It was clear already to the library.
I found three books I weren't normally read. Streets in subdivision no longer icy when I got back.
Tomorrow they might be again with another cold night. Car outside dripping off stuff.

I tried to walk before going to library, but where I cross the street there was too much ice.

robin, I hope you'll get sunshine to start melting all the ice and snow.

Poirot, I hope your manager gets a lot of calls about the snowy roads.

OC, enjoy your visit with your son and family.

Still hot in Cancun. We had a massage then discussed where we will go to have someone else make us dinner.

Minor crisis with app telling me the litter box is already full and my sons non responsive, but my daughter got results and now it's rolling again. Phew!
 
brisbydog, I'm glad you're having a nice trip. That's interesting about the cat litter box.
 
Yeah i invested $1000 in a self cleaning, auto refilling cat toilet that usually works like clockwork but on day 1 started sending weird messages.

What's nice is that it weighs the cats and sends me notifications by name so I know that all 3 are alive lol
 
Snowed here around noon, very light, fine snow. Only reason I could tell was it showed on the sidewalk. LOL. Did not last long, but there IS a forecast for snow Sat & Sunday, before the temps go down to single digits on Monday. Very cloudy out now, probably will be getting dark soon. Hate it still getting dark so early. Although it does seem lighter out with snow, as it reflects white. LOL
 
Brisby, wow, what an amazing gadget! Well, amazing when it works. I didn't even know something that sophisticated existed. It seems like so many things in life pick the most inopportune timing for failing. Do you have anybody who can look in on it for you--friend or family?

Poirot, your weather beats all. Have you had winters like this before, where the really cold, snowy conditions just can't seem to settle in?

I didn't sleep much last night so took a nap this afternoon, first time in a while. I have some things I need to get done before tomorrow but I can't seem to get moving. Still trying to wake up from the nap.

It's fine my sons are home just not fast to respond. I sicced my daughter on them and now everything is operating again
 
We did have some sunshine today - it was only 37 but there was a little bit of melting - the problem is we are back at 20 by the morning so danger of black ice. We are supposed to hit the 40s tomorrow though so I’m hoping quite a bit of it will melt so we can get out if we need to.
